Absolutely this. I didn't follow my instincts and bought it for 40€. Got to nightmare, 2nd act, before deleting it.

Another one I was dumb enough to pre-order. It has improved a bit over time, but it still doesn't hold a candle to the awesomeness that was Diablo II LOD.

Deus Ex Human Revolution runs flawlessly on my box, but Metro 2033 stops its scripts after a few minutes of play. It's quite creepy to walk around something that should be a lively melting pot of underground society when all of the sudden everyone freezes and sound effects enter an endless loop all the while you are free to roam around and inspect everything. As long as you don't need to interact with anything, as doors and stuff won't work with scripts frozen. Support is a joke, installing and patching has been performed countless times. I really wanted to play this game but I guess I will never start it again.

Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare is good, and anything before it is good. Anything after it (e.g. both the titles you listed) is trash. This according to those who know the entire series well.

Far Cry 2 (actually, I regret buying Far Cry too) - game in a nutshell is about jamming your gun. However, to do that you have to fight enemies having no brain and to make up for that they're just endlessly respawning at some points to not let you forget about it by defeating them in no time. It's hard to since your hero is a brainless zombie too and can't even speak - no wonder he (or she, doesn't really matter in the game) got himself into a story that makes no fucking sense. Starting with that malaria crap as just first example of terrible story telling which follows you the whole game until laughable ending.

I will have to say Max Payne 3, I have to give it more time, but the controls are bad :(

Bioshock Infinite Pre-Order, dont understand me wrong...game itself is a great joy and good graphics...but iam really sick of games that dont let you quicksafe.

That's something that kept me from buying this game... I read a lot of reviews that said that sometimes it take a LONG time between pre-set checkpoints and you can't save anywhere else.
That kills any game for me, I don't usually have a lot of time to play in one sitting and often have to "leave the pc" on demand (wife and 1yr child); if I have to replay a scene more than twice, I'll just use my precious gaming time somewhere else.

A Vally Without Wind... Man IMO those games suck
EDIT: And Arma II CO. . now hear me out .. I bought it for the dayz mod. Although I think Arma 2 is a good game, I just dont have time to play it.. I bought it for the DayZ mod. And to this day (bought it in March) I still have not played a game. Ever server connected to nothing but problems. Dl'd diff apz to do the updates for me etc, did it manual etc. Nothing but a headache. Frustrated and reclaimed my 30 gigs of HDD space back ...

Brutal Legends was painful, the demo was SO good but once you get past that part in the actual game it just falls flat (imo)
From the top of my head I can also say these : Spore and Street Fighter IV
There are other games that didn't meet my expectations but those were mostly cheap, I payed full price for these three
EDIT : Ah yes, assassins creed 2 should be in that list as well. Bought it after hearing great things about it but it never really clicked for me. Maybe because I just love the way inFamous handles traversal and couldn't get over the whole hold button to go bananas mechanism the AC-series uses. I recognize it's a good game tough as I have real problems with the other 3 I mentioned

I had a very rough start with The Witcher. I tried it and couldn't figure out the combat at all--died endlessly in the tutorial area. After a long while, however, I went back to it and it "clicked" for me. After that, I enjoyed the game. You might want to give it another try.

Prior: some formula 1 game for the playstation. My dad never played it and it was bought for him. Huge waste of money. Rollercoaster tycoon 3 - i played it just not enough. Not enough new things to play with made it boring.
Now: Fifa 13 somewhat. I like the career mode but it's not completely to my satisfaction, simply simulating makes your good team d not so good quite a lot. + Crash crash crash at release.
What are your regretful buys?
