Well, I'll take a serious stab at this subject. A Couple of gaming revelations for me:
1 - "Phantasy Star 1". I had played games before, but that was my first RPG (5-6 y/o). I remember thinking, after spending hours grinding, to buy an item to access a new area, then getting in and being delighted talking to the people there, "This is it. I'm going to play games forever. I'll never give it up". This was a revelation, since at the time gaming was seen as a "Child's indulgence", and not for adults (For me at least). This game let me diverge in my thinking, I no longer believed society when they said this was a Child's Toy. I thought for myself.
2 - "Lunar Silver Star & Eternal Blue". These were the first games to fundamentally change my life, on a philosophical level. "God" and the "Powers That Be", it didn't matter what you believe or what people tell/teach you, that I didn't have to rely on just faith/belief alone. That you can be proactive, and that if you want to live in a better world that you can do it yourself, even in the smallest of ways. If everyone just put in a tiny bit of effort in any way to be better for themselves and the world around you, that that effort could change the world (sappy, i know). It made me realize for myself, that skepticism is not negative, and can lead you to truth. If you ask, or challenge, you will learn so much more than just accepting/disregarding something blindly. Not everything was Black and White. That villains can be heroes, and heroes can be villains. Its a matter of Degree, and not absolutes.

I'd talk about some of the revelations in Psychonauts, but they're spoilery. Let's just say that there is a grim reason that Milla's head is constantly a dance party with very loud music. Loud music to drown out something she otherwise can't stop hearing. Something awful and traumatic. Nobody points the details out directly, but several elements in the level make it pretty clear.
The Dreamcast game Sega Smash Pack Vol 1., consisting of 12 Genesis titles, was deliberately programmed to allow modders to use it to run almost ANY Genesis rom, because the game was essentially a Genesis emulator reading standard Genesis rom dump files. A file on the disc addressed to the most active Dreamcast scene group, ECHELON, described exactly how to use the emulator to play whatever Genesis rom desired. The title was released the same day Sega announced it was discontinuing the Dreamcast.
