I have two kids (3 & 8) so restricted to the type of festivals we can get to. Booked five this year and all have music on (if music isn't necessarily the main purpose of all of them) Bands most looking forward to in brackets afterwards
Bearded Theory 25th - 28th May (Madness)
East Midlands Chillifest 7th - 9th July
Farmer Phil's 11th - 13th August (Ferocious Dog)
Northern Green Gathering 17th - 20th August
Positive Vibrations 8th - 10th September (Backyard Rhythm Orchestra)

The Bearded Theory & Farmer Phil's are "music" festivals. Bearded Theory is terrific; very friendly and relaxed. It's out first time at Farmer Phil's so not sure what it's like yet! Obviously on a smaller scale than the ones you mentioned in the OP

I've been to Farmer Phil's before with friends and their children - really great festival with a great family atmosphere, I'm sure you'll have a good time!

Excellent, another endorsement for Farmer Phil's; I'm hearing nothing but good things about it :)

Well, I'd love to go to Reading/Leeds and especially to Glasto, but I can't actually afford to go to a festival abroad, I have to limit myself to Moscow events. Anyway, my local plans for the next couple of months include Depeche Mode, Kasabian, Foals, Peter Doherty and Richard Ashcroft.

That's the only one I've tried to get over for before. Always such a good mix of metal

I'd love to go to some festivals. In my area, there's usually festivals / whatever at city beaches, certain parks, etc. I vaguely remember as a kid certain areas that would would do fireworks every year for Canada Day and lots of people would come. As a kid it was pretty magical and amazing. Now it's just kind of... eh, yeah, cool.
I don't really go to any festivals of any kind or such but it'd be interesting to go to one.
