I wanna see the Dragon Lady on the Iron Throne. Really hope Mr. Martin gets around to finish the saga during his lifetime. Man was I angry when I was left with such an evil cliffhanger at the end of the books as it is now...

I'm not completly sure what you mean but maybe what I said was easy to misunderstand.
It has been quite some time but I've read the book up to the current (german) volume 10 several times so what I ment was: Considering Martin's speed for the last few books it will take quite some time until the saga is finished but the show apparently won't take a break so he either must have given the makers of the show a rough outline what the ending will be or they are gonna make up something of their own which I doubt. I'm afraid he let himself be pressured by the huge sucess of the show to give HBO an idea what the ending will be and hope the ending of the books won't be spoiled by the show finishing earlier.

Well, not sure how to deal with these news. I was thinking he was at least goin to write two more of these really long books to wrap up all of these strings. It's quite unfortunate we're having a television broadcaster interfere with a writers muse now.

Depends on who you listen to. Publishers say it will be out before the series starts (Most likely by just a few days/weeks at most) whereas Martin keeps pushing the dates back saying it will be done when it's done. In all fairness, DoD did take him 6 years to write and the last 3 years he has been extremely busy with other projects as everyone tries to get their hands on his golden touch before it runs out.
He did recently post he is still writing Winds of Winter. I just hope that he finishes it his way and does not let HBO dictate what happens to some of the major characters we are expecting to be resolved.

The good news though is we have the official Game of Thrones Coloring Book as well as the Dunk and Egg collection A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms to hold us over...oh yay.

If I assume right and "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms" is the short story that was used for the Game of Thones graphic novels "The Hedge Knight" & "The Sworn Sword" I've only read "The Hedge Knight" so far and it was ok but could not compare to the books.

Those two and The Mystery Knight, and agreed they're nothing like the books but they are just novellas so that's to be expected. They are however the most recent works we have and have become the "prequel" now in their billing, with GRRM working on more in the series to come.

That's a hard one since there are likeable characters from many Houses.
I think right now I'll go Martell which implies another House I would favour anyway
Also if you're doing forum GAs there are some advantages in making your GAs "Invite only" as it keeps bots out and rewards people who activly participate in the community instead of just mindlessy entering GAs.
