What others said, look at Whois and the IP is located in Washington DC. When Valve wasn't bought by another company and moved to another place then this is probably not real ;)

I don't know why you are going "as far" as checking the DNS records to prove this is a fake.
A website called hl2ep3.com with a counter, I mean, really? So much for the element of surprise...
It is also absolutely unlike Valve to communicate like this on their games, remember what they did for Portal 2 for instance. That was clever and inspired.
