I forget to mention I have a spare copy of Gun Monkeys. The first person to respond to this, that doesn't already own it, gets it.

Yes, for now I chose 10:00 PM GMT. This is, as far as a can tell, the most accommodating to the largest amount of people. It's between 3-6PM across the U.S. and Canada, 8PM-1 AM across Europe, and 7-10 PM across South America. East Asia has it the hardest as it's very early there around 6 A.M. (Also difficult for Scandinavia where it's late night, about 12 A.M.)
If the group grows large enough we may be able to do two sessions on a gameday, (i.e., 2 AM GMT & 10 PM GMT) although that creates the problem of possibly splitting the userbase. However, it may be the best solution for accommodating everybody.

Love your initiative. Small hint:
Majority of europe, including scandinavia, are all in the same time zone, which is CET (currently CEST (summer)), ~6 hours ahead of EST.
For lazy people, like me: https://www.tekrevue.com/tip/add-additional-time-zone-clocks-windows/

But Denkmark, Norway, and Sweden are in the same time zone?
(indeed ^^)

Interesting little group. I have a game called Worms: Ultimate Mayhem, which has dead multiplayer. I usually play it with my friends

I'd love to join, but school's gonna eat up all of my time soon enough. If you want a game recommendation with dead multiplayer, there's always Dystopia. It's a very interesting FPS with a lot of depth within it, but the playerbase is super small.

Time has actually been changed to Sunday at 3 AM GMT. Which I think will change the time to 10 PM Saturday your time. The time will likely fluctuate week to week until we find a time that accomodates the widest group of people.
We're currently surveying which time works best for users so go [here](http://steamcommunity.com/groups/multiplayermedics/discussions/1/360671727319068668/] and let us know what works best for you.

I know it's quite early. We'll try a couple different times to figure out what works best. Once we have enough members (I'm thinking 500 will be suffecient) we'll have two sessions set roughly 12 hours apart.

This is a great initiative. I rarely play multiplayer games these days for different reasons, but if I have the means and opportunity I'll gladly play some "abandoned-too-soon" games.
I have a question, too. Does it have to be games available on Steam? Say like if someone were to start a Medal of Honor: Allied Assault server and post their IP (and instructions on how to join, perhaps) in a thread in your group's discussions? After GameSpy got shut down, it's a pain trying to find players for the games that relied on it for multiplayer.
Cheers. Joined the group, don't have Batman but will check what's on vote for next time :)

You're more than welcome to make a post in the forum recruiting people to play old games like that.
As far as what shows up in the strawpoll for the weekly game, for now I'm sticking only to Steam games. in the future as we grow we may add Origin, GOG, and other non-Steam games.
But given the difficulty in coordinating users to a private fan server, it may be awhile before we officially add that.
But in the meantime, feel free to create a discussion topic to organize a game session for any members interested.

It's difficult indeed, but trying to get players to MoH:AA within your Steamgroup and with your blessing, I feel hopeful! :)
Many games were affected by the closure of GameSpy, even some owned by Origin, and they apologize they don't quite have the resources to make the old games work in MP w/o GameSpy :(
Thank you Outlaw, I will read up on the server part, and when/if I feel confident I can run it, MoH:AA will live again.

Multiplayer Medics is a group dedicated to reviving dead multiplayer games.
Each week we'll arrange a gameplay session for a multiplayer game that lacks a regular playerbase. Every Monday, 4 games will be randomly selected and placed into a poll within the forums. Group members can then cast their vote for which of the 4 games they'd like to play the coming Sunday. The game that is chosen by popular vote will be played on each Sunday at 7:00 P.M. GMT for 1 hour.
I'm compiling of MP games with low daily concurrent players. Currently, the criteria I'm using is very broad. Simply any game with <100 concurrent daily players (as provided by Steam Spy). If anybody knows how to more quickly assemble or even automate this information please contact me.
As the group grows we'll narrow our criteria of eligible games to what works best for the community. Any suggestions to that end should be posted in the Suggestions/Feedback Forum.
I hope there's merit to this idea and that together we can hit some overlooked games with the defib.
See you guys on the undead battlefield!
And be sure to vote in this week's poll
