Hi, I would like to get some recommendations of games to play similar to my favourite games like Gothic. Mostly I search for games with tags like rpg, simulation, survival. I like when game has crafting system and choices to bend story. On the other hand I hate online games available as multiplayer only and with microtransactions.
I played and tried a lot games, but always nice to get know some more.

Games added to wishlist:
Arcanum
Outcast 1.1

Something little for bothering

Crafting, simulation and survival (but sadly, without a lot of RPG) I would say Subnautica. One of the best with those tags

On the RPG side, maybe Fable and Kingdoms of Amalur.

I have been looking on Subnautica some time ago, but I am not sure why I passed over. Doesn't game have recommendation to play with controller? Fable I played long time ago and haven't got into, may give it another chance one day.

No. Subnautica plays absolutely fine with mouse and keyboard. You can trust me, I am a K+M apologist.

Don't miss that game. Is an absolute gem

I agree with popocho, Subnautica is an amazing game! You shouldn't look past it, you can completely 100% play it with mouse + keyboard (I did)

Uff hard question i'm think bro. Maybe The elders saga, Titan Quest, Death doors, Biomutant or Gothic but remake XD (Coming soon)

As a hardcore fan I doubt remake will be similar game to original Gothic. Now I am playing Skyrim, just having some problems to finish... too many sidequests.
Don't remind me Titan quest, that was the worst 100 hours of my life, friend told me to buy it, so I started play.. I haven't killed even first satyr boss and he started spam me with character guides and charts how exactly I need to play to finish game. I really hate when someone lines me how to play games. So I forced myself over limits and played the most stupid combinations.

I have hope in this remake, but idk until they finish it. Maybe in 2025 XD

If you own any Gothic game on Steam you can play the Gothic playable teaser. It's in your library.

I did. It is bad showcase for investors, not for players. Hope they remade it as they promised.

Well, you probably know about the whole series (Gothic 2, Gothic 3, Arcania), though I only played the first 2, so can't vouch for all of them; another RPG with a very similar vibe was Risen (I played the first one, it was enjoyable, with great geography, and choices seemed to matter). I understand Elex goes the same way, but other people will probably tell us if this makes sense.

Cheers!

Edit: funny -- it seems I basically mentioned all the games in this package.

Just no. Arcania isn't part of gothic series. It isn't even a good rpg, game or usage of space on steam shop.

As I said, I can only vouch for Gothic and Gothic 2. :)

Sadly the only game I played from what I tought it was gothic series. Awful game, it was painful to finish it (I just have to finish games I start). But since I read this, I might give a chance to the others.

Ah, thank you, completely forgot of Arcanum. I have an original cd for it, but that is definitely game that deserve storing as a digital copy. Kindom Come Deliverence I may buy at next steam sale (screw Epic).

Looks like it was heavily inspired by Gothic (which is a good thing) and the execution looks at least solid. I might get it once the next paycheck shows up :)

Dear xxxka,
Have you tried Outward? It looks a little bit rough for this times but has all the Genres you mentioned.
You can even play it in Couch coop!

Second Suggestion: Elex - a weird Genre Mix from the gothic creators.
Best Regards,
Sir Myr the 13th.

I might start with Outward, it has been sitting in my account long and I haven't even tried it yet. Elex is good game, already finished it twice, planning third walkthrough.

+1 for Elex:-D
I seriously could recommend only those lovely Piranha Byte RPGs, and i guess you played all already:-) Perhaps something for the future for nostalgia?:

I enjoyed Two Worlds 1 and Two Worlds 2, The Technomancer too, they are now old games.

Currently waiting patiently for Elex 2...

Remake will take long to be finished, lets hope it won't stay at teaser, none wants Arcania 2.

Two worlds I need to finish, haven't played in childhood and now I can't get into. Played recently Two worlds 2: Call of Tenebrea, which I won on that site, but it was really bad. Seariously, it went wrong since first Two worlds. Technomancer I have now instaled, got it from friend and want to finish.

I am not sure what to expect from Elex 2, end of first I haven't really like :/

Two Worlds is a bit outdated but it's very similar to Gothic. Also the base game of TW2 is better than call of Tenebrae,

Wanna suggest ELEX, but you've already played it. What about Kingdom Come: Deliverance?

How about the Risen series? Now I'm not too big of a fan of RPG games (with exceptions) and haven't played any of the Gothic series, but the Risen games I heard were similar to the Gothic games.
Maybe also something like Medieval Dynasty could be to your liking? Though that's still in early access. Or ELEX as axlnase mentioned above.

Risen series is a lot similar in first game, in 2nd and 3rd they decided to change into pirate style of game.. which was weird, cause it now looks like it do not belong together. I think it was beacause leader of Piranha bites studios changed. Don't get me wrong, Risen 2 is good pirate rpg, but they should create new series and do not force it to Risen, cause it feels like each game is separate. Elex finished already.
About Medieval dynasty I am not sure, screens on steam shop haven't really persuaded me to buy it that early.

MD is available at gamebillet or wingamestore for 18 and 19 Euros if that makes a difference to you. I don't have it but I have put it on my followed games list... it might become a good one. We'll see.

Rised 1 is good imho as a diehard fan of Gothic 1,2 and 3(just to be clear the order in which i rank them is 2>1>3 but i like 3 a lot too).

Just play GreedFall. Trust me on this :)

I plan to finish Greedfall, but I can't persuade myself to play it. I think I got kinda disappointed by open world promises. When they wrote it was inspired by Dragon age, I immidietely bought it. Then I realized it was inspired by Dragon Age II.. Map is a corridor and each piece of map looks same. I hope it will get better, but I am afraid, it won't. Seeing Spider's Bound by flame better also do not help much.

Risen fished, Dragon Age series I bought again just to replay on steam in 2020. I will look into Nehrim and Enderal, but I am not fan od mods, hoped for good story game, visual do not really matter. I do not need games looking as Skyrim when I can just play Skyrim.

I am not a fan of Star Wars universe either, but the games Spitfyr has mentioned are among my all-time favorites, they are just good RPGs and you don't have to be a fan of Star Wars to enjoy them, I think.

While I'm a fan of what Star Wars was before Disney came and destroyed everything (so I see both Kotor I & II from fanboy perspective), the series is totally separate from movies (it's happenning in the same universe obviously, but ~5000 years before movies even start), and most importantly, it can be said to be great just based on its own merit.
Downside is that both games are quite dated, but the upside would be that 1st game was developed by Bioware in its good days, and 2nd game was developed by Obsidian (both good studios imho), which also means that while both games share a lot of mechanics and are quite interconnected, they feel distinct from one another (e.g. in what writing focuses on).
All in all, I recommend to look past the Star Wars title, and give them a try.

Outcast 1.1 - it's like Gothic, but in futuristic setting, and it looks more like 2001-game than 2021.
Player can go anywhere after beginning, do tons of side-quests, craft guns and ammo, trade bananas, open portals, research for lore and get into humoristic moments. Aaand it has bugs too!

Maybe Outward or Kingdom Come Deliverence? The later was free on EGS at some point so it might be free again.
The Gothic remake didn't look too good, based on the demo, let's hope they'll overhaul most of it.

Risen was already mentioned, same for Two Worlds and Elex.
I played Vendetta: Curse of Raven's Cry recently and found it similar to Risen, just a little more buggy.
And - of course - try Witcher III: The Wild Hunt.

Vendetta was nice game. Until I got bugged after 15 hours and impossible to finish now, cause when I pay for ship repair, it remains damaged, but takes money. Chapter 3 or 4 :/

Yeah, I know that pain :)
You can buy another ship or try shorter routes to avoid encounters :)

That I was doing rest of game, but that is story related battle. No chance to beat 3 ships with like 20% of health. I noticed it late and all my saves are broken. And sorry, but I do not see it as game worth replaying.

I glossed over the other comments to try and not repeat suggestions, but you got most of the good ones already there. Whole TES series, everything else from Piranha Bytes, Kingdoms of Amalur...
One thing I didn't see there was Two Worlds. Pretty good game. At least the first one. I haven't really played the sequel.
