True. I even have rubberized WASD keys (as well as the arrow keys) just because they're used frequently. And this looks stylish too.

This, and sometimes with a controller, if the game is able to use one through the computer.

+1 to the guy with sausages around the neck!
it's easier to crouch and sprint with WSAD but it probably depends on your fingers (how big) and keyboard...

Tab as well. ESC. 1-5. F1-F4. Caps Lock (Arma uses it for voice chat).

WASD for foreward/back/strafe
Shift for jump
Ctrl for crouch
E for use
R for reload
Alt for walk/sprint
Space for voice
This is my setup for pretty much every FPS--and most TPS--since Doom.

Nah, problems with my joints. Much easier for me to handle a gamepad when gaming, than attempting to use a keyboard. My accuracy with a gamepad is more than good enough for any game I play with it.
The only time I'll use other controls is for titles that support mouse only controls schemes.

Eh, not your fault. And it isn't so bad most of the time. Though winter prevents me from playing Devil May Cry. :P

When I played MMO's I used a ESDF configuration since it opens up additional hotkeys I can access easily with my left hand. I haven't really found hotkeys to be an issue in FPS so I generally don't bother to change from WASD, not to mention that I'm extremely lazy to change it for each game, and I don't play any FPS enough to justify relearning key bindings for, whereas for a MMO you tend to play a lot so it's worthwhile to try to be as efficient as possible.

wtf? maybe in old time copters... (and by old time I mean 1995-1993)

I used that for so long... started with computers when the only arrows on the keyboard where on the numpad and game rarely supported a joystick. To this day, I still can't stand having NumLock turned on as I still tend to use the numpad for keys like Home, End, PgUP, PgDn and sometimes the arrow keys too.
In the glory days of Duke Nukem 3D, I couldn't understand why someone would want to use the kb/mouse combination instead of the numpad. Then, one day, I played Quake with the mouse and understood what it was all about.

Do you use the common WASD or other key combinations?
Personally, I use ESDF because it's close to the center of the keyboard and when I type, I don't need to move my hand too much.
