So 2 people were on an isolated island and they were going for a walk. Their name is Maxwell and Jacob.

M & J were walking around until M fell off a hole that leads to a cave.
J said "Try to find an exit. Then J went back to camp and stayed there for 5 days, with plenty of food and water.
M found a skeleton, and the skeleton woke up, tried to kill M, but he managed to kill the poor skeleton.
M was starving and thirsty until he found an underground lake. Without thinking, M jumped on the lake and started drinking it.
It turns out that the lake was poison and M suffered and tortured for 4 days.
On the 5th days, he was so hungry and thirsty, he had to crawl to move. Finally he found an exit and crawled all the way to the camp.
After telling Jacob what happened Jacob replied "wow, you are really lucky"... and they lived happily ever after..

Who is lucky?

The reason I asked this is because I got into a minor car accident,.. My brother said I was lucky. I think I was unlucky

Who is the lucky one?

Maxwell is really lucky!
Jacob is really lucky!
Both of them are lucky!
Both are unlucky
Luck? people still believe that? Do they also believe in Zeus and Hades? and.. Unicorn?

Never admit fault in an accident, not even here. :) , in fact you should edit your post. It doesn't matter how bad you feel or what the scene looks like. Not to worry you, because it probably won't happen, but in general you never know if a few hours from now, someone involved will decide they have a back-pain or other injury from even a minor impact. (regardless of how cordial everyone is at the scene. Even the passenger of the driver at fault, who could be a close friend, could decide they are hurt)

Luck is the thing of having specific conditions and terms, some controlled others not, that when together, they create a specific outcome that may be positive, or negative.

This is an interesting discussion. The anecdote and scenario outlined reminded me, in the sense that someone could seem both lucky and unlucky depending on perspective, of Aaron Ralston. His story was used in the film 127 Hours. He was unlucky in the sense of experiencing multiple unfortunate events leading to his getting trapped, but then the fact he survived in the circumstances was also very lucky, having some of the basic equipment he needed, being found when he was after being severely weakened hours after amputating his own arm.
