Everyone calling this guy a cheater, get out this thread. He has denied it, and therefore calling him a cheater is pointless, as it won't make him change his fucking mind, even if he is a cheater. You can't prove him wrong, and we can't prove him right either, so all you should do is try to help him.

Now Sumppi, if you're truely not a cheater, send details to steam support. They are the only ones who can help in your situation. Unfortunately, they will take some time, they always do, and will ask you stuff which may seem obvious, but it is unfortunately the only way. Also, VAC bans can have a long delay on them, so it may be that you had something happen ages ago, so think back a bit. Has your account ever been hacked, or otherwise taken out of your control, because if so, that could be the cause. And even if it isn't, It might be wise to make sure to change your password now, and enable steamguard if you haven't already.

No, that is not strange at all. Aimbotting bans are probably the most common bans you can get, and I will tell you why. I was a regular on many servers on HL2DM, and seen this practice many times. If someone you don't like joins, is being a bit of a cunt, you ban them. Except, "Cuntery" isn't a ban reason, so you choose the first that would appear on the list, depending on what software you're using. If it doesn't allow custom ban reasons, then please tell me, what ban reason would be at the top of an alphabetical list?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

That's just stupid.

If a server has a mod in it, and that mod bans you for something that doesn't mean that you are going to get banned in Steam too. If this wasn't your point I'm sorry.

Permalink

"If this wasn't your point, I'm sorry"

Then maybe you should make sure you know what my point is before replying? I mean, it is pretty obvious what my point is. The point is, that this guy was banned for Aimbotting apparently, and that's enough proof for some people here, while my point is, Aimbotting bans can rarely be trusted.

"If a server has a mod in it, and that mod bans you for something that doesn't mean that you are going to get banned in Steam too". VAC banned him for aimbot, that's the important thing. Mods only ban people from their servers, nothing more.

I was once framed lol. Someone else somehow had the same SteamID according to Sourcebans and they banned my SteamID, even though they banned a certain name that I never had I even used /namehistory , they still don't believe me.
So yeah code is perfect but, what you think it does and what it really does are different.
Or they could have just set someone up and have a "valid" reason to ban me.

I have to agree. I recently got banned from a DOD:S server for no apparent reason. Some guys were talking about me in French, I asked them to tell me what they want in English and a couple of minutes later I was disconnected with a ban. One of the most random things that's happened to me in games.

Comment has been collapsed.

ignoring admins is diff than aimbot: http://bayonnette.verygames.net/index.php?p=banlist&hideinactive=false&searchText=STEAM_0:1:13872014

sure it's not enough evidence without a demo. aimbots are the easiest hacks to spot in CS tho. Either way this thread is pointless as nobody here will be able to help him. also his profile is private and you can't even see his time played. you can scan the list of bans on that server, they don't seem to be random for anything..

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Oh, so THAT's why I was banned! Do you have any idea how to contact them about it? Try to clear things up?

Then again, if they have admins who are willing to ban people simply for not speaking French, I'm not sure I want to play there again. There's no shortage of good DOD:S servers.

And also, do you know how I can find if I'm banned anywhere else?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Just thought this up - google your steam ID, custom URL, profile name, and permalink. Easiest is to go to steamrep.com and go to your own profile, then use the links on the bottom right.

As for that ban, man, fuck uptight elitist french admin assholes, and fuck their server. Who cares, go play somewhere else, fuck 'em I say.

Thanks, using those links revealed that I'm banned at the Unusual Trading Community. Even though I've never visited the site before. Nor have I ever owned any unusuals. And there isn't even any way to access an appeals forum or see a reason for the ban.

Actually, it seems to be an IP ban rather than an account ban, because I get redirected straight to a "suspended" page when accessing the home page. I've never given my Steam ID to the site (I'm guessing it uses the OpenID?) so they don't have anything besides my IP.

I'm starting to think that some shady person used to have my IP address, as this isn't the first site that banned me before I ever visited it.

If you have an advanced enough aimbot that can be configured properly, it will not be detectable by demo-ing someone. There's on-damage aimbots that only activate when shot, on-fire aimbots that only activate when firing, and many have a configurable area of the screen where the aimbot works. Then, in a lot of them, you can set how fast you look at something "snapped" to, as well as some that allow you to only shoot your first bullet "aimbotted". If you're a semi-decent player to begin with, and set your aimbot to only work at, let's say, 15 degrees (or x/y values - it differs per aimbot), and to not insta-snap, noone will ever know you use one (except people who know exactly what they're looking at and how to detect aimbot behavior - and even then, sometimes not).

Sucky, huh? :/

I didn't read everything, so don't know if this has been mentioned yet, but there was a couple of times when VAC went on a banning spree and banned lots of people by accident. They fixed it within a few days, but it was still an error on their end. Thats why I disagree with them not saying why someone was banned.

It is possible that its a mistake, after all no programmer is perfect, and no program is perfect.

This was already posted, and in fact can't be trusted in this case, since Aimbotting bans are incredibly common, but rarely mean aimbotting. That, and it's just a random server...Random servers can ban for anything they want.

As I know by playing a different game, not Counter-Strike, aimbot bans mean a screenshot as proof and thus they should be very reliable. Unlike Punkbuster, VAC doesn't grab screenshots but I heard server admins of Source games can run third-party tools for getting them.

Yes, but once again, it is a random server. Different servers have different rules. This one may simply be an abuse by an admin, it happens a lot.

Well,Sometimes Steam does ban people for no fucking reason.
My friend got banned for just being good at CS:GO.
Then next day he got banned from MW2.

VAC doesn't ban people "just for being good".... VAC doesn't have some guy sitting behind it, choosing someone to dislike. It's an automated system that does scans of data running through your PC (background processes, DLL hooks, high memory, and files) - that has nothing to do with "skill".

Either your friend hacks, or he got banned off individual servers.

Yea sure innocent. They just ban like that Vac to everyone.
From your group 4/29 are banned / some on german server others on PL.
One banned on 3-4different servers and even blacklisted on PL page site.
So i dont make this out of topic / OP was banned for aimbot.Steam ID is unique u cant steal, its unique.
Also if u change your steam names 10 times older names are not shown , also you can be banned by your ingame name (as in CS and some other games u can change name , mostly bans are that u chosed ingame and not steam ones). There may be some ppl that got banned unfairly but this often i read about it on different forums makes me wonder. They dont ban for nothing.

Just want to share for a brief minute if I may. This is towards anyone saying that "said company cannot remove a ban or vac or whatever its called cause they said so or they wrote it somewhere etc"

A few years ago I was banned from Xbox Live. What does that mean? Well my username was not banned from Xbox Live but my Console was. It was (although they would not tell me specially) as a modded Xbox.
Every so often MS would send down a ban hammer to a wave of Xboxs with "x" firmware from a mod. This ban would make it so it could never access Xbox Live. They would not ban your Username cause you are paying for service, they just ban the console. The "ONLY" way to remove the ban, was to buy another console. That is what they tell you.

Well the truth is, my console was never modded - ironically for that very reason. But somehow mine was lumped in with the rest of the consoles in a ban. I spent 2 weeks on the phone with them fighting, supervisor to supervisor, cutting tickets that when I called back didnt exist etc. When suggested to go online to see if I would have better luck, the internet told me I must be a cheater and deserved everything I got. Nice bunch of people all around.

Well long story short, 2+ weeks past and magically my Xbox started working. It was no longer banned, I could access Live. I wondered - hmmm, I was told Microsoft does not unban consoles - as they do not make mistakes. The software they use to detect the modded consoles does not make mistakes (this is what I was told)

Well, knowing I was no longer banned, I called MS again, but this time I didn't tell them right away that everything was working. I pretended my console was still banned and started asking questions. Well again, after another 20 mins of fighting with a supervisor he checked on my latest ticket that was sent and now it was magically "Resolved" With "No Explanation". Turns out I wasn't a dirty filthy cheating lier like I was called by MS Supervisors, agents and online nobodies.

The only compensation I received was they changed the end date of my live getting me back my lost 3 weeks.

Two months later another series of bans went out - there were more mistakes but these were handled in a better fashion then my experience.

Moral of the story is, this dude could be full of shit.. However.. it could very well be just as honest as anyone else.

Hope good comes out of your problems bud. (assuming you are not a dirty filthy lier :) )
