BallisticNG is becoming a paid game tomorrow. If you install it now, it'll receive future updates. Apparently you'd lose it from Steam if uninstalled. It's DRM-free, so make a copy if you want to keep it.

Nice thanks.

Edit: it's weird, it now shows that I own the license and the store page shows green confirmation. Will I lose this tomorrow when it goes pay to play?

If they don't change the app/sub then you should still be able to access it when it goes paid but it'll still function like a free title meaning it won't stay in your library when uninstalled but will be installable again at any time and you won't get cards if they get added.

That's exactlly the situation I'm in from when Quake Live transitioned from F2P to paid.

Should work just as well to just paste it into the URL bar of your browser. It might ask you to allow steam to handle the steam:// protocol but I think most people have already allowed that for a variety of reasons.

This is for ASF users.
The best, and probably the only one still getting updates, tool to idle/farm trading cards from games.

no it's not, the last update makes it unusable on Mac for exemple

I mean are there alternatives?
I didn't say it's perfect, just best, because the lack of competition
And it's donation based so you can't really complain.

I'm not criticising ASF, I'm saying they made very poor decisions on the last version. And I'm really not a "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" type guy, but not only did they break it, they made it a mess which is a huge step back in terms of ergonomics and files, and opensll is super dangerous and insecure for Mac, AND they want you to update to the most instable version of Mac knowing how planned obsolescence work which is a really weird thing to do for developers...

When the game switches to paid, as long as you do not uninstall the game you will continue to have access to the version you were at - you just won’t receive updates or have access to steamworks based features anymore.

Source.
Nevermind, they had misunderstood and the next announcement says there will be free updates as long as you don't uninstall.

Thanks for the heads up, tho. If it's as good as the reviews say I can wait for it to be bundled or on sale.

When changing to paid would this add a +1 to the game count?

You should still be able to access it but you won't get the +1 unless you buy it/redeem a key.

So you need to download the DRM free version, that will auto-update without steamworks servers ?

Is there a way to add the licence to one's steam account?

This still works!

This game showed up in my discovery queue as a paid title, and as a WipeOut fan I was rather excited to have it recommended to me. Quite a few people in my friends list already had it though, despite ITAD info showing zero times bundled (about the typical amount for say, an IG bundle game), so I was curious what the deal was and that's how I found this thread here. Installed it via the SteamDB method mentioned by Chazan above and yep, says I own it now and it won't even let me buy it for myself. Not that I'm complaining ;)
