Keep an eye on Steam card exchange too, a lot of trades going on there right now so the inventory changes from time to time. I'm only going to craft 2-3 badges, but using both SCE & STM have helped a lot to complete the sets.

I got 3 foils, should i sell right now or wait until 22 dec ?

It's untradeable if bought the cards today to make the badge, i already had complete sets for weeks xD

you can sell the cards immediately, IF none of the cards you used to craft your badges was purchased in the past 7 days. if you got your cards from the market today, well they will have trade/market locks for 7 days

I think the very very hugry crafters(top level guys) will only buy at any price when the sale starts. Cause i can't see them buying the cards but plebs don't know economy and will sell the cards for very cheap today and next week :/

Why are the mysterious trading cards prices so low? I don't get it.
Comment has been collapsed.
plebs are destroying the price, probably next week will be something like that.

When i say plebs i mean noobies in Steam market, isn't a specific person. Im not a predictor but i guess will stay the same price cause sellers want buy cheap games so they will sell for low price, and people who want level up will have high demand it means the price will stay consistent. Thats the basics XD

2x ready to craft and some to sell. Sell if they goes cheap :D

Never saw any mysterious cards of the previous years so low on price, so fast. Will keep my badges to next event.

Well, majority of users are waiting for summer/winter sales to craft their badge sets - nothing unusual since you get mysterious card instead coupon. So you can expect it will be pretty similar during next event when valve don't do anything new.

In 10+ years of steam I never saw the prices dropping so fast in the first few hours. Yes, they always dropped over time, like, 1 week, but never in few hours. This is unusual.

People learn. Also the insane increase of super-cheap titles with badges that flood Steam make it people have a healthy supply of badges to craft when the sale starts when other years that was more limited.
Neither showing any indication of changing.

True, I remembered that this year the number of steam games increased by an excessive amount.

I only really started using Steam recently. During the Summer event, I did the daily queue and it said I was getting cards but I never seemed to actually get any.
What can you do with these mysterious cards? What is the reward you get from collecting them, just a special badge?
Comment has been collapsed.
Was your Level on Steam lower than 5 back then because that would explain why you didn't get cards.
Pretty much. When the sale starts the mysterious cards turn into Holiday Sale cards and you can use them to craft a special badge that's only available for the duration of the sale.

The biggest "benefit" from these are that they aren't limited to lvl 5. So people usually use them to get a lvl 2000 badge or so for 20.000XP while otherwise after 5 they need to move to another game.
Same for foil, so no idea why people even bother with those since same rewards for 5x the price, and without limit, why would you even? I can understand to get that 6th badge for a game you love, but an event? No clue.

prices will only go one way if there going to move and thats down*, you might get little fluctuations buts thats about as much as you can hope for

Sale isn't on yet. It starts on the 23rd.
But, as usual, the event special cards (Mystery cards until the sale is started) are already dropping when you craft any other badge.
You can't yet craft the event special badge, but you can go ahead of time by earning those special cards. That's specially useful considering you sometimes need to wait a few days before selling or trading...

This is what I do:
Actually, this is the first time I've done this. :P

Thanks for that. I haven't sold my foils and I don't use Archi to farm my cards, so I have a bit of catching up to do, particularly on the newer games and games that have had cards added after I played them. However, I am regularly logged into Steam, and for the games that I do have all the drops for, I have only ever seen one booster pack in 9 years, so find it hard to imagine crafting a single badge, let alone hundreds.

Booster packs drop rate improves with your Steam level.

The problem with this reasoning is that having a high level profile doesn't necessarily mean you're "rich", and having a low level profile doesn't mean you're "poor" - and I'm just talking about the worth of your Steam account, not your actual financial situation. There are many people with several hundreds of games who still have a very low level account. Why? Because they decide to sell their cards instead of crafting them. They could easily reach level 50 or above with their drops and the occasional boosters, but they sell everything on the market instead. I'm not saying it's a bad thing, everyone is free to do whatever they want with their stuff. But saying these people are "poor" is just not true, and supporting them with extra stuff would be a bad decision. Cratfing isn't profitable at all anyway. Yeah, you'll get some boosters once in a while, but they barely worth anything compared to the cards you crafted. It's more like Valve giving you back something, so you won't lose that much. But in the end, you'll still lose money, unlike those who sell all their cards.

I never said anything about rich and poor and that's not what I meant, I just meant that it was a self-reinforcing system that widens the gap between top and bottom, which is the opposite of an auto-levelling system, which seeks to close the gap between low and high. I'm not even saying it's wrong, since it provides a lot of encouragement for people to put the effort into advancing. I just thought it was funny to see in this day and age of making things easy for beginners and all kids getting prizes when they play Pass the Parcel at birthday parties.
I don't agree that it's easy to reach Level 50 if you don't sell your cards. I've only ever sold 12 cards, all of them duplicates, and I am a long way from Level 50. Let me be clear, I don't think I deserve to be at a higher level: I haven't put any effort into getting there: as I initially said, this crafting is all alien to me, so I was coming in with an innocent curiosity about it all.

The actual difference in chances for a level 1000 account and a level 1 account to receive a booster pack is next to nothing. The biggest factor in booster chances are the number of people who actually own the associated game and the amount of people crafting its badge.

wow this is crap, cards are selling for .09 or so atm.. man last year at this time they were .15.. the sale before that they were at like .20.. guess no money can be made off cards anymore.. I suppose too many people caught onto how lucrative it was..

Why the biggest crafters have not started to buy trading cards yet?

I like you level now, the blue color is so beautiful.

Do you do it manually? I'm getting super bored now.

No way, leveling up a badge still give you cards drop. Tested it myself.
