I knew someone would mention it sooner or later.
Except the "Made by the people you hate the most in the entire world." I don't see any similarities.

You mean the expansions and stuff pack? It's nothing compared to some other games, and their isn't that bad anyway.
The only game with any remote micro-transaction is Dead Space 3, and it's so little and insignificant you wouldn't call it a game with micro-transactions.
Wow, so they decided to make an online game. So how it makes it crappiest ever possible DRM service/client?
And he said all this sounds like ea games, when you only presented 3 single games with only one of the points and that isn't in that bad case anyway. If it's enough for a company to be called out then almost all AAA companies are like that.

For Sims 3, they have 10 DLCs that are $20, 12 Expansion packs from $20-$40, and three extra packs worth $20-$30 making it over $500 worth of addons. What other games have $500 worth of DLCs and addons? Just wondering...
I concede on that point since I don't really bother much with them to begin with and only heard people talking crap about DS3's microtransactions. You can call me a bandwagoner on that one.
An online game that is mostly played by yourself? Even EA admits that they didn't need it to be always online but yet they did so. They claimed that it was always online because their servers were making the calculations for all the events in SimCity but modders have been able to change it to become an offline game so that debunks their reason for always online. Even a Maxis employee came out and said that it wasn't needed and it was proven. Of course, it can't be considered the worst DRM ever but the fact that they had to lie about the usage of the DRM and give blatant lies for it ticks me the wrong way.
I agree that's it's probably not the worst DRM since Uplay had that before hand for a long time. But I feel as if they didn't lie about the DRM in the first place, if they just came out and said "This is a DRM to prevent piracy.", then they wouldn't have gotten as much flames as they do now since their entire reasoning for the DRM was debunked but they're still sticking to it.

you need to remember the game was released 4 years ago, and the only reason all their DLCs together cost so much because they kept on constantly releasing expansions, would've it been better if they stopped expending after a year? and each expansions and stuff pack have decent amount of content (and expansion add new features just like it needs to) just like an expansion and stuff pack needs to be, and the price is correct too, so the only for you it seems that they released alot of it, but that's given considering how much time passed and they create new expansion and stuff pack constantly (every few months, which is absolutely ok) which is considered a blessing by many including me. In no way can you compare it to games which after a month already have 10 DLCs for 5-10$ each, with each one of them giving just one cosmetic item or one weapon.
in that case it would just go as I initially stated; "Made by the people you hate the most in the entire world.".

Well, to each their own. I'm not really a Sims kind of person so I can't really see the point to all of the DLCs and expansions since they all feel like cosmetics to me TBH. The new features added in are so small and in between cosmetics that they're not worth the $20-$50 price tag IMO. And 8/10 DLCs(not talking about expansions) that they have are purely cosmetics at $20 a pop which contributes close to nothing to the game from what I can see. If anyone reading this is a Sims or EA fan, I apologize for my narrow-minded views.
I dunno why, though, my mind makes a connection between Sims3 DLCs/Expansions and COD map packs.

Not really a narrow-minded view, each person and his own likes, but you do need to keep in mind that Sims IS mostly about cosmetics, the game is dressing up your sim and/or building your house, so people who play the game, cosmetic item IS what they usually want. There's really nothing else you can possibly add to the game beside new features. I haven't played any recent expansions, but all expansions I've seen really added ALOT to the game in terms of features, and a few even expanded the game so much I didn't expect. Lastly I can confidently say that in terms of expanding the game, Sims 3 is the best one I've seen yet, always wished that games were closer to Sims 3 in terms of game expansion.

I guess I've been spoiled by Skyrim and other games where the expansion packs give a lot more than I'm used to with Sims. :p

Thing is that other games have fewer expansion, so they feel more special, while in Sims 3, you simply get used to the constant expansions, and it feels just like paid updating.

Nope. If it has horribly invasive DRM, I won't touch it. The new SimCity and Diablo III are perfect examples of this. I want to play them so freaking bad, but won't go anywhere near them.
The same, in fact, goes for the new Xbox One. I was a huge Microsoft fan through most of the lifespan of their previous consoles, even if updates did constantly make my 360 dashboard uglier and retarded it's usefulness. I even stuck with the 360 through two red-ringed consoles (one after having it for less than 24 hours). Considering what Microsoft tried to pull with the new Xbox though, I won't go anywhere near it.

I'd wait for the much improved pirate version. Altho I doubt it, such ppl could even make anything that could get close to being my ultimate game. But well, there's a big difference between publishers and developers, so I guess that would, theoreticaly be possible

Spore fucked up in the game itself, not in it's distribution.

Made by the people you hate the most in the entire world.
Uses the crappiest ever possible DRM service/client.
The price is ridiculous.
Countless DLCs releasing for ridiculous price and close to no content.
Monthly subscription and with ridiculous pricing.
Heavenly loaded with advertisements.
And heavy practice of P2W and micro-transactions.
. . .
Would you buy the game? (knowing it's one of a kind game and there will never be another game like that.)
