I recently bought Oblivion Deluxe as it was on sale.
When im in the first Character Creation menu, I get a seriously low frame rate as my movements with the cursor are stuttering.
After a short time maybe 30secs, the game crashes completely.

Does anybody who own's this game and has come across this problem have any solutions for me?
All help would be greatly appreciated! (:

edit: I have tried to use the Unofficial Oblivion Patch, the official Bethesda Patch and a Stuttering Prevention Mod all have not worked so far..

I'll wish you luck. That game gives me nothing but trouble, despite both Fallout games working fine with the same engine. I get graphical flickering problems though.

I had low frame rate problem as well. But my PC wasn't so good those days, i'm not sure.

DeltaBladeX is right, that engine has problems i think.

Well, that was the funkiest fix ever. Every other game, I disable AA to get highest performance. This game, I need to set it to 2 just to get it working without graphical problems. WTF.

No, lucky would be it working no matter what. I hate AA. I'm looking at it in the same resolution no matter what, why render more?

But this game never, ever actually worked right, it was buggy as hell from day one.
Yes I bought it brand new.
I have had it installed and played on Win XP, Win Vista, Win 7 and Win 8, and Xp seemed the best barely.

What was your problem. I was having flickering menus. It might not fix your error.

Seek and ye shall find

However, it might also have something to do with your drivers.

I can't install OBSE, my edition has shivering isles, which is apparently not compatible.

My version of oblivion has shivering isles, and OBSE works, I don't see why it wouldn't work for you.

I've done everything it says, copy the three files into the folder. Make sure that box was ticked in the games settings (can't remember what its called) but whenever I try to open Oblivion the obse_loader.exe doesn't come up as well :(

Came here to recommend you those mods.. but well you already know about those. I guess you're unlucky, I was playing Oblivion with all DLCs and OBSE without problems... not even crashing unlike Fallouts.. they are still crashing too much.
