Do you like to celebrate for no reason?

Nice! As a CPP with tons of health issues myself it's even better to hear someone doing well; as opposed to the usual negativity.
Congrats! That's a great reason to celebrate!

When I was in second year of Psychology, we had a teacher who was specialized in handicap.
I will always remember what he told us:
"People with handicap aren't unable to do anything, so never treat them like inferior Humans. Remember that for them to do similar things as you can do with ease, they thought of it as a problem, found a solution and adapted it to their handicap."
It was two years before my problems started, since then, every time I solve a situation that was easy before, I celebrate it.
Every time I'm stuck because I'm handicapped, I'm never ever am ashamed of asking help. I take it as maybe this is a little too much for me to handle, and it's ok, I can do things other people can't do after all.
So if one day, you feel bad because your chronic illnesses are preventing you to do what others usually can do with their life (work, going out with friends, do stuff you cannot for a reason or another), never feel less for it.
The time you get can be used in a way that is as special as going to work every day. You can spend some time educating people about your illness, you can speak to them about what invisible illnesses are, you can be a support for your friend because you can have a little more time for it, you can do other activities and spend the necessary time to progress on it others wouldn't have because they have a lot of others things to do that you can't on your side.
The fact some doors are closed because of your handicap doesn't mean that you cannot do anything, it only means that other doors will open and as soon as you are done mourning your past self, you can seek for them and make your life more positive for yourself and others.

Thank you for your intelligent response!
I haven't had the opportunity to study Psychology in a formal setting. However; I am quite familiar with it from reading the various editions of the DSM & ICD over the years. As well as helping my "wife without papers" get a proper mental health diagnosis & using talk therapy over a period of time to negate OCD symptoms & allow her to wean off Sodium Valptroate (Depakote). Which was great as that medication isn't even used to treat the conditions she actually has! Correcting her medical record & assisting her has without a doubt helped me as well.
As I greatly enjoy helping others & being able to do so is nice. I often educate people in general, though also specifically. I'm also very active in the CPP community. I figure I do whatever I can to help myself & others. It's important to educate oneself as much as possible & use that knowledge to help others. For me anyways.
I appreciate the sentiment of your post & thank you for the positive nature of your response & the intellectual content. It was an good read as well as a good message to any that read it. I hope you have a great day & continue to have positive things occur in your life. :)

So happy for you, best of luck with your changed medicine. :)

That's nice that a "small" change could give some more relief in comparison. I too have had better luck with patches in the past re: side effects! Side effects sure can be nasty, hope you have an easier week. :)

Again a double reply, ;)
I'm glad you've had good success with the patch. I'm only personally experienced with Duragesic (Fentanyl Patch) & oral/IV Morphine as opposed to the Morphine patch. Thanks for sharing the info.
As someone who is Autistic I tend to get very deep into certain topics. Pharmacology being one of them, especially considering it's very useful knowledge for helping myself & others.
As I help others with said knowledge; being able to add more information to my recommendations or answers to people's questions is very useful. Though anecdotal I've heard multiple people say something similar. Not entirely surprising considering route of administration can greatly alter many things about a medication.
It's been nice reading your replies. Thanks again for posting things I enjoyed reading & are helpful to others.

A3 sized test papers, she's supposed to sit in front of the class but I've heard most teachers moved her to the back because she's such a quiet and good kid - and never realised how bad her eyesight actually is. She's got -15,5, even with her glasses she doesn't see fully.
She went to a regular, although relatively small, highschool but she still got bullied, unfortunately. I'm just proud of my little sis :-)

Finding something I've been looking for a few days ago! Feeling better & happier now, :)
That's always good IMHO. Celebrating by playing a game I bought in the Steam Summer Sale (TW: Warhammer & DLC's) & gave some games away to spread the cheer. Before I noticed this thread or I'd link them, ;)

Lucky you, usually when i'm missing something for more than a day the universe swallows it, personally i haven't bought a single game from steam this sale, i did however get the latest humble monthly, played moonlighter alot though, and still need to start playing senua's.

Well without being to specific I didn't find exactly what I lost & it wasn't exactly what I was looking for, ;)
Though the universe seems to have swallowed it! As what I'm actually looking for I haven't been able to find in quite a while. I just found something to replace what I'm missing for the time being until something changes & I can fix the problem & find what I lost.
Hopefully that's not to confusing! I picked up the TW WH games as a reward / celebration. I'd been considering it since the WH Blood for the Blood God sale or whatever it was called. I figured maybe I could get something I could really put some time into & get my $ worth out of it. As I probably won't buy anything again until the Winter sale due to financial reasons.
It didn't hurt that having only recently gotten a new enough PC to game on my Steam account is fresh & was low level. The xp granted from the sale was a nice bonus. However I ramble & digress as I'm known to do, my apologies.
I'm glad your enjoying moonlighter! I hope you enjoy Sensua as well. I'm regretting missing that bundle for the WH40K Mechanicus game but hey maybe I'll win a GA, :)
It's always nice to converse with other nice individuals. I'll add you to my WL unless you object for whatever reason.
Have a great day!

gratz on your new PC, i believe i'll pick up a new one in 2-3 years myself.
it's a shame we're dicussing now and not a day or two earlier, you could've joined that very GA with only 5 participants(yours truly had a WL GA for that xd).
i've added you to WL aswell, next time you can participate in those.
you have a great day aswell!

My daughter 16 YO (recently diagnosed with ADHD and numbers-dyslexia) just ended her 9th year in elementary school. This last year she has raised all of her grades, enough so to be accepted into the high school of her choice - got the acceptance letter two weeks ago.
All this from being absurdly behind, and being warned she would not receive grades at all in certain subjects.
Couldn't be prouder of her, this summer is all about celebrating her for all that hard work!

i'm happy for you and her, the highschool that she chose to go to, is it far from home?
also, i've been diagnosed with ADHD, i've taken ritalin during my highschool so i could concentrate, it's not all bad.
currently doing college, computer science and math, so from personal experience i know, the only limit we have is inside our head.
she can do anything she wants and possibly better than most people.
best of luck to her, and once again, congratulations!!!!!

They have both dorms and apartments, a little bit depending on your specialisation and needs.
The high school is for people who want to work with anything animal, forest, or farm related. She wants to be a dog handler, so she's bringing a dog with her to work/train with - so it'll be an apartment for her. Fits her needs of privacy as well, she does like her alone time hahahaha, just like me

wow, that's something we do not have here where i live, it sounds like she found her quite little space, i hope she does well and ends up being a successful dog trainer, and even if not, the time she spends there and the people she meets there will be precious moments of their own!

that's a great reason to celebrate, infact i did the same thing a couple of weeks ago, my friend moved to the south to study a medical degree, and his gf and i arranged it so i'll pop by surprise(couple of hours by the train).
had a great time, let me know how yours went, added it to the OP board.

I'd celebrate that I'm not blacklisted, but sadly that is not true

He is, isn't he?) I've also got a 5 year-old little monster of a niece, and considering that all three other members of my sister/cousin cluster are relatively young and married, more kids are likely to follow (not that I mind).
