I seen this posted on Sanctum's facebook page, figured some of you might be interested since I see people entering for the giveaway of the Sound Track. It's pay what you want at bandcamp, minimum being 50 cents USD. I got it for myself from here, really nice sound track.

Why would I pay for a soundtrack??? Isn't that supposed to come with the game?
Companies are getting greedier and greedier

Soundtracks don't normally come with the game, if it does come with it, it's usually the collector's edition of the game.

Well, they kind of always come with the game - obviously, inside it.

It just takes a bit of googling to find out how to extract and play it outside the game, usually. Companies are just profiting on people's lack of will to research.

EDIT: Of course that, for .50 USD, it might be way easier to just buy it and help the authors - specially when you know what you pay will go (mostly) for them.

So you're saying, if you buy a movie on DVD, then you automatically own all the songs, which are in that movie as well? Extracting those songs is not less illegal, than downloading those songs from a shady/torrent website.

Not a good analogy - all I'm saying is, if you buy a movie on DVD, you should be able to watch it anywhere/anyhow you want; and that includes watching the parts where music is played with (or without) the video. Of course, it's kind of a broken analogy aswell because you rarely see a full music on a movie, just parts of it.

Apart from that, the whole "copyright" market in the movies/music industry is wrong and gives most of the profit to the distributor instead of the authors (the word refers to the "right of copy", as in "monopoly"); but it's a whole different topic for a different thread.

Oh, I'm sorry, if the analogy wasn't good enough for you.
Let me make it easy for you: It's illegal!
And I don't think that this is a forum, where illegal matters should be discussed.

And that's the reason, why nobody takes PC-gamers seriously, because there are so many retards like you running around. Thanks for that Jazz!

And of course, retards like you to call others "retards" without actually discussing anything. You do realize that the biggest reason piracy exists is because sellers don't actually hear what buyers want and just throw laws at them, right?

The soundtrack is great, and I'll give an indie company another 3 dollars for such a brilliant game.

It's unlikely, but do you know if it unlocks the steam soundtrack?

Funny thing, to buy the game with a soundtrack on Steam it's $12; but to buy the game without it's $10. To buy it separately it's $10.50. The publisher wants you to pay $2 (at least) per soundtrack (which seems rather fair). But to buy the official soundtrack on its own on Steam costs $5. So you get a fair bit of discounting with this site (as much as 90% off!!) on the soundtrack.

I for one support this kind of experimentation with pricing, however, same with the Humble Bundles. I find it unfathomable to buy a HIB for $0.01, but that's my own personal taste, and I don't think ill of people who do -- they have to deal with their own conscience on the topic. But this kind of pricing, at least to me, is something which should definitely be praised where developers allow you to pay what you want.

In this case they set minimum price at $0.50, which I not only respect but recommend for things like the Humble Bundles, since it could end up costing THEM money for the transaction at less than that.

On Coffee Stain Studios' facebook page, they said they prefer people purchase the sound track from Band Camp rather than Steam, they get a higher percentage back from Band Camp.
