the thing is, that from games I would like to play I already have the cheap ones... but I still bought 4 games this sale. mostly platformers

A friend gave me BeamNG.drive, which I've been enjoying. The novelty of it will probably wear off after a while, but I keep getting ideas of things I'd like to try. If I'm not at home when I come up with an idea, I think about it all day until I get home so I can try it out.
The only game I bought was Food of Light. So far, it's the only interesting game I've seen in my discovery queue. It has 100% positive reviews and it's only $2, so I figured WTH.
I checked my wish list and nothing stands out as something I would play right away. I'm probably not going to buy anything else so I don't pile on to my already large back log. I already bought a few games on GOG during their sale too, some of which are in my Steam wish list, so I probably need to prune it.

Hmmmm, early access and driving, that's a double nope for me... :)
Flood of Light sounds interesting, and cheap, but if I bought all the cheap stuff I'd feel silly, since most of them will be bundled sooner or later... And I'd never remember to play it... :(
One problem I have with GOG sales is the occasional Connect thing - since I already own most of those games on Steam... :( So waiting will often net me the game later, for free... Great for me, not so great for them...
Thank you! :)

I wouldn't have bought BeamNG myself because I thought I remembered reading that it had been abandoned and the developers started on a new game, but apparently that isn't true. I've been putting off cleaning out my wish list, so it was still there.
I've been buying more games from GOG lately. I now pretty much only buy it on Steam if it's Steam exclusive, and usually buy a Steam key from Humble store. I've also stopped buying cheap bundles just for one or two games. It doesn't seem fair to the devs of the game(s) I want to have to split my money with the crap I don't want. Humble is the exception since they let you chose where the money goes.

I find myself buying more from the Humble Store lately, mainly because the silly gifting changes on Steam mean I can't stock up on goodies to give away later. :(
Hmmmmm, about half of these giveaways are from them, but I wouldn't want to spoil anything... :)

Bump. Thank you for the giveaways.
I was initially disappointed with the sale this time, but still managed to find more games on sale than I could afford. I picked up some cheapo boobie games and some survival-crafting. 7 Days to Die is pretty good fun so far, though it took me fewer than seven days. ;-)

Your threads always remind me of that Monty Python meme, "And Now for Something Completely Different." D

Ok, this was only a puzzle if you don't like reading or looking at things before you click on them. :)
There was a HuniePop giveaway behind the smiley link, https://www.steamgifts.com/giveaway/o0bAU/huniepop ... :) Maybe some people missed it, though... :)
And the other five giveaways each had one extraneous character:
O https://www.steamgifts.com/giveaway/UMWq4/Oladykiller-in-a-bind
4 https://www.steamgifts.com/giveaway/xq4CL/4wolfenstein-ii-the-new-colossus
g https://www.steamgifts.com/giveaway/z4QLg/gobserver
0 https://www.steamgifts.com/giveaway/O2xKT/0conan-exiles
E https://www.steamgifts.com/giveaway/Zqbng/Elife-is-strange-before-the-storm
Which led everyone who noticed to O4g0E i.e. https://www.steamgifts.com/giveaway/O4g0E/tacoma - but you didn't want that game anyway, right? Walking is for nerds, let's get back to shooting each other...
Original message:
One more Steam sale thread. Blah blah blah.
I took a look at my wishlist on the first day, but it's hard to remember why I wanted most of those games. Guess that's why they are still in my wishlist?
I'll probably buy something out of habit in a couple days, either some of the cheap stuff, or maybe something good so I can feel bad for not playing it... :)
In previous years you could check the Games Under $5 list for hidden gems, but not any more... Looking today, how many of those things are even games? And do ten renamed "UnitZ" count as ten different games, or one, or maybe zero? :)
Hmm... I was intending to try all the "Steam Awards" games I owned, since they are the good ones, right? Somehow it didn't happen. Looks like I even missed a few days of free cards, too.
Oh, I even forgot to vote for HuniePop, and after writing a review to get that stupid badge too. Oops. It's on sale in the Humble Store, but I wouldn't want to get any of that stinky bundle CV. Guess I'll have to give away the other stuff instead. Sigh. :(
Speaking of sighs, I finally installed Civ 6. Bounced off it a few times, then played some more. Mainly it feels like a Civ game, I guess?
When you're having fun in a game, have you ever taken a step back and wondered, hey, why am I playing this? If you've ever played a MMO "for real" you know what I mean... :)
Anyway, somehow Civ 6 felt just like that. I'm sure it's a good game, but I could have played Civ 2 or 4 instead, and used my money for umm, whatever.
So, as usual, this pile of words is to chase away all the lazy people and their auto-giveaway-entering scripts. Words, blah, blah, blah. Oh yeah, isn't there a script to solve puzzles now? I was intending to troll it the next time I made a giveaway, but forgot. Sorry.
Hey, I heard "Only A Northern Song" today. Figured I'd make some giveaways. No reason.
I found a "video" at https://vimeo.com/217614187 but perhaps it's blocked in various regions. Well, you know how the internet works, look around. Or don't, and just click on the FREE STUFF!!!
If you're listening to this song
You may think the chords are going wrong
But they're not
We just wrote them like that
Ladykiller in a Bind
If you're listening late at night
You may think the band are not quite right
But they are
They just play it like that
Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus
And it doesn't really matter what chords I play
What words I say
Or time of day it is
As it's only a Northern song
>observer_
It doesn't really matter what clothes I wear
What words I pair
Or if my hair is brown
'Cause it's only a Northern song
Conan Exiles
If you think the harmony
Is a little dull and out of key
You're correct
'Cause there's nobody there
Life is Strange: Before the Storm Deluxe Edition
And it's only there's no one there
Nothing At All? Deluxe Maybe Try Reading Edition
Hopefully I'll be too busy playing a game to read anything, so I won't bore you with yet another Steam Sale discussion. But if you have anything interesting to share, that would be nice. I'll try to remember to bump things if nobody else does. :)
Good luck! :)
