Never got it, but they created so much hype and then the game almost disappeared, guess it wasn't that good

I freaking loved this game, but the endgame content, as you said, it was boring, just jumping from planet to planet, etc. The worst of all, when I was travelling via wormhole to the totally other side of the galaxy, of course some tragedy occured at home...

Agree. I enjoyed it much specially when creating and evoluting the creature. Its worth is more as 3D ultra ez designer than as game itself, u can end up creating really goodlooking monsters completely different between them. After that, the game dont have anything that keeps u playing it over and over...
Ive basically extint all spieces on my planet trying to find out new pieces for the editor XDDD
But was fun, pretty original :D

Eh, the first 4 levels were okay, the space level was complete shit

It had so much customization that my brain couldn't handle it.

The first phases were awesome, also the editor. the galaxy gameplay could be better, but was also fun. Then i tried to fight against the pirates there in the middle of the galaxie for a few weeks and lost the fun... :( but i think its still a good game

I pre-ordered the game and while I really liked it, the last phase was a simple repetition of the same thing all the time. In the end I upgraded my ship, bought tons of defence and planet killing missiles and went on to the center of the universe to finish then remove the game.
The 1st phass were great, I also really like the town phase, but the space phase is way too boring.

I like the game as a whole, and I plan to play it more in the future.
One gripe I do have is that the galaxy mode, while fun at the start, doesn't really scale well to a real empire: you're still stuck gathering spices and colonizing with your single ship when that should somehow be automated at that point. A further space empire stage might be called for.
Also, while I have a lot of fun with the creature creators in the beginning, when they make a functional difference and you're using limited options, I get increasingly apathetic later on. There are so many things you could customize, from the species, the architecture, and the terraforming on each individual planet, but it doesn't actually make a difference, so I usually just use whatever. It's a bit like writing backstories for your characters in a CRPG.
Also, I wish the achievements were Steam-based.
I still find it fun despite these issues.

Fuck Spore. They had it in a retail shop, and my sister was all for it, always kept talking about it how much she wants to try it and such. So I thought I'd buy it for Christmas for her. Looking through the shelves I found some extremely pricey copies, despite the time being way after the launch day, but I found one that only cost like uhh, 20 bucks or so. I figured the others must have been the extended versions (I've seen a space-y expansion on sale there for around 30 bucks too). On Christmas Eve, when she unboxed it (European habits, we get our gifts on Christmas Eve), it turned out to be a watered down version, where you could just create the monsters and make them dance. No evolution, no nothing, Just the creature creation screen. For 20 fucking dollars of value. That's where I swore I'll never buy anything published by EA anymore, and shamelessly pirated the full version for her.
Having tried the game myself, I was amazed by the volume of fucking it up. I still have no idea how they could mess up a great concept so bad. And I thought Fable was dumb...

Wasn't that character creator like 10 dollars retail? Damn...

I bought it thinking it was the full version to. This was before release and I was not aware of when it was coming out. Same feeling, but I never got around to pirating it. Why would they sell in essence a promo/demo in retail stores at $10-20? Makes no sense at all. For that price I could buy the full version now. From what I can gather the DLC isn't that good and should have been part of the full game or given out as free DLC (it would discourage piracy). I'm hoping a better studio creates a similar game in the future that could actually be considered AAA.

Well, hungarian retailers may warp the prices sometimes. We get some Modern Warfare games on launch for around 90 bucks value too in case you're looking at the wrong place. I remember clearly that my copy of that editor actually cost 4000 HUF which translated roughly to 20 bucks, because it was the most expensive thing I bought for any of my family members. Yeah, first year at college and no job, I was such a lowball.

I knew it was gonna suck.
1st Too much hype.
2nd Too many changes in late stages of dev.
3rd. EA. E fuckin A.
I had high hopes though.

I had a good strategy for farming Spice. It involved being a complete dick, and a bit of patience. Find a planet with a rare, expensive spice on it. DO NOT COLONIZE. Build its ecology up to level 3. Drop a Monolith. Then subjugate and claim.
The spice production of a world depends on how many cities are on it. Colonies cap at three. But a claimed homeworld, if no cities were destroyed in the process? Then drop one of those spice-vault devices that increase storage capacity.

Thank you EA, thank you for ruining the supposed "franchise" with Darkspore or wtv. Can it be considered a sequel though? I feel it's so bad it's a different game.

I will honestly admit that I enjoy Spore. Then again, I will highly agree about one aspect... the game really is advertised about the creatures. The tribal stage at least retains some of that (though you no longer modify the creature itself), but once in the civ and space stages, you will only ever see them in cutscenes or while contacting them. The space stage is probably why I will never play it again without the GA expansion... at least with that you sometimes get to go back to solid ground with your creature, even if it is only for the duration of the adventure.
Also, the 'online' aspect has become seriously problematic to the point where you have to play stages of the game offline first in order to upload them at all; when logged in, the game auto-submits creations, but fails and marks it as uploaded, forcing you to make a duplicate and upload it manually. Maybe that's why I don't play it as much as I used to...

I was too smart to buy it.
Older games from him are good tho.

Do you? Spore
Now describe your feels after you bought it?
They ruined it so much. I bought the limited edtion on the first day it came out. After playing some hours I just was in the last phase. And after that the game is just so fucking impossible and boring. They fucked it up.
Whats your oppinion?
