it's totally worth, but You have to have and spend a lot of time to teach it and of course playing and walking with it may take some time, especially bigger dogs, I have Labrador Retriever and it must have 2 walks per day, morning and afternoon. but dogs can love purely ^^

Being at home is always connected to having something to do - therefore I prefer being lazy somewhere far away. :)

not now, but I had opportunity to backpacking :D for example last year with 3 friends (overall 4 people) for 2 weeks in Bieszczady Mountains :D I had no time and opportunity to backpacking this year, unfortunately :(
