I know, I'm soo excited for that :). I already have Don't Starve, and I've played local co-op with the mod. I can't wait!

I have L4D2 and play it a bunch, and even though I love it it is more of a FPS game, NOT a Survival-Horror

The Forest is fun, but is in Early Early Access, and I say this because the game is riddled with bugs, but can be enjoyable. I would recommend the others(Rust and 7 Days to Die, I haven't played any others) if you have friends who play them too. EDIT: Out of the 3 I have mentioned, I would recommend Rust.

What are major differences between Rust and 7 Days?

ummm... well, Rust has more people that like to shoot on site, 7 Days to Die has zombies and 3 game modes(go to this site: http://7daystodie.gamepedia.com/Game_Mode ).7 Days to die is more fun to play by yourself, as you can make your own personal server and play when your internet is down(I think). Rust is more fun to play with friends. They are both annoying at times, with Rust it's the community and with 7 Days it's the zombies(which made me rage quit last time I played because they are everywhere!!). 7 Days has cities you can search, while Rust has a few buildings here and there and a couple of small towns. In my own opinion, Rust was just more fun to play, and one of those reasons was it ran better on my laptop and looked generally better graphics wise. Both games are frequently updating. Any more questions? EDIT: Also, the major difference in where the games take place, is 7 Days is in like a city with small to large towns and farmhouses, while Rust is in the wild with few buildings.

DayZ - hands down for survival horror. Project Zomboid has its charm as well.

+1 For Project Zomboid. Devs are great and I've had a blast playing so far. Gonna throw State of Decay in there as well even though it's not on your list.

I forgot about State of Decay, that game looks good and is under rated

I'm having fun with it. Can't wait to get to the DLC. :)

+2 for Project Zomboid. Even in it's early, pre-Steam/Desura, buggy (obviously), alpha state it was a pleasure to play. Since then, the interface has been greatly improved and remains equally as entertaining. I have not, however, given the multiplayer or co-op a try.

Out of all of these The Forest has the most potential imo.
Day Z and Project Zomboid are in development hell and at this rate it looks like they will never be finished.
Rust I haven't tried but it just looks so unpolished and buggy I wonder if it's going anywhere.
Stomping Land just looks like crap to me.

The Stomping Land is an interesting game- it has such a great concept, but terrible execution; It doesn't even look like it worthy of being called an alpha build. I watched an Achievement Hunter Let's Play video of it and it looked like complete shit, but I am hoping it gets better as the builds advance

Primal Rage is along the same lines as The Stomping Land. I haven't heard much about either, but there are some who say that TSL is better than Primal Rage.

if you want to play with your friends then don't buy the forest now seeing as there won't be co-op for a long time if you are fine with playing single player then go for it as it is a fun game but don't buy it expecting multiplayer in a month
I never played the multiplayer part of Project Zomboid but the single player part is really good but i think that would be a lot of fun in multiplayer
and i would maybe wait with The Stomping Land it is a lot of fun to play with friends but there is so little content right now that it won't stay fun for long

I am fine as far as waiting for multiplayer for The Forest, because I have a bunch of of other games to play meanwhile. And as for The Stomping Land, I know that there is almost nothing based on gameplay that I saw, but I'm scared that once it leaves early access that the price will go up a bunch

you don't have to worry about the price rising for stomping land from there steam page
"The price of the game is a one time purchase, and will not increase for release, so you may choose to wait if you prefer a more complete experience from the start."

Oh, I didn't know that, thanks for saving me $25. I'll just buy something else for now then wait until it is more complete.

Anything except DayZ, my biggest purchase regret :-/

I want to buy a good survival horror game to play with friends. Which one on my list below do you recommend?
Rust
DayZ
7 Days to Die
The Forrest
The Stomping Land
Beasts of Prey
Project Zomboid
I know that "The Stomping Land" and "Beasts of Prey" aren't exactly "Survival Horror" but they still look interesting enough that I would consider buying either them if they had lots of positive reviews. TY guys :).
