2 is best, 1 is boring.

Assassins Creed 2 is just as repetitive as the first one, plus it's missing the whole "elite assassin" feeling. Ezio wasn't really an assassin, he was more of an italian gentleman.

The first Assassins Creed is the best in the series, give it a try and see for yourself. The story and the plot twist was pretty epic, too.
While AC 2 is a fine game on its own, it just isn't a good assassin game.

They're both better than all the rest combined.

If I have AC2 on the Xbox 360 (and haven't played it yet) do you think it's worth getting the PC version?

AC1 is good, if you want to play true assassin. It's repetitive, but each main assassination can be carried the way you wanted. Because it's first in the series you can understand its nature.

AC2 is good game too, but you are not assassin anymore. Now you many play assassin in training, but actually you are just someone who has assassin's skills to exact vendetta. If you pick AC2 and like it, be sure to at least check on AC:B which is more AC2.5 then new game.

Only problem that I had with games except that they are console port, is pain for compilationist, too many useless tedious jobs.

AC1 was the original and the best. Visual are awesome. I usually want 100% the games so i played AC2 that way but it's too many side-quests. Also AC2 should have been ported better. I bought a way newer pc and the game was still laggy.

AC 2 is less boring but still boring.

Jokes aside, I enjoyed playing both, but the fight system is ever so dull in both of those games (xx enemies vs 1 assassin? Sure, let's attack him one by one and get dunked). Still, it's fun to run through the cities and just awe at the visuals (some buildings are perfectly copied from the real world), the story is also quite good at this point, it only gets messed up in the following games. Second part also implements some fun-ish side quests and town managament (for upgrades and whatever other reasons I can't remember now).
All in all, you should probably try them.

AC1 is IMO much better considering the story, AC2 is IMO awful in story and gameplay (It feels like they made it for 12-year olds)

Assassin's Creed 1 is pretty barebones, but it's awesome, Assassin's Creed 2 is vastly improved and is extremely awesome.

AC2 one of the best of the series, along with Brotherhood, these were 2 best AC games, that time when Ubisoft cared about making them good.

1st is good but stereotipical. You will do the same thing over and over. 2nd is best of the series (+ Brotherhood) I don´t like revelation.

As many other have said before me: Ac1 feels like a chore. I couldn't get through the whole game. Ac2 is one of the best games I have ever played.

AC2 is the best. Get it. Just don't get the AC3.

Personally, I enjoyed them both. Worth $10 easily, so definitely worth anything less than that.

AC1 main story was a drag like everyone else said, but I had quite a lot of fun running around the rooftops, stalking/killing the guards on said rooftops, and riding around on a horse.
AC2 certainly fixed that repetetiveness.

Played the first one, got bored quite fast with the repetitive misions, shallow story and the worst thing is you aare encouraged to go full front assault instead of sneaky assasin, i mean, is easier to kill the 12 guards in combat than trying to run and hide, you will only acumulate more guards.Also, counter to win.
