"even STALKER SoC is better than this" -_-
Like that game is bad to begin with. Combine it with complaining about every thing in Fallout 3 you can fix with mods, bashing Bioshock Infinite because they dared to change the game before relase, and we got a confirmed troll on our hands.

Weapons too weak? Ofc, that's why there are mods.
Broken weapons? Ever heard of fixing or mods that allow you to fix yourself with scrap?
Not enough ammo? Again, mods.
Traveling boring? You can use mods for getting faster around the Wasteland, or without them, there is fast travel.
Why do you have to kill in vats? Tried playing in very hard with some hardcore mods, right?
Maps terrible? I there is anything Bethesda can do, it's crafting awesome atmosferic worlds to explore, even if the story is a bit weaker.
Soundtrack? RADIO.

There is a reason why FALLOUT: NEW VEGAS isn't FALLOUT 4. Is quite the same thing of FALLOUT 3.. just a little more expensive (about contents). More Weapons, More NPC, More Quest. But is like a VERY BIG EXPANSION. SAME GAME, SAME GAMEPLAY.

STALKER series is a lot better than FALLOUT 3 and FALLOUT: NV, especially S.o.C. (imho).

I hope that the next FALLOUT 4 will have a different ENGINE, and a different GAMEPLAY.. because yes.. after a lot of quests, FALLOUT IS BORING. No doubt.

Weapons too weak? Ever had the expirimental MIRV? Ofcourse the starting weapon is weak, what did you expect? A minigun?
Broken weapons? You can rapair them with another copy of the weapon or at a vendor.
Not enough ammo? You didn't play much did you? I'm at a point where there is too much ammo.

I didn't like Fallout 3 but I find Fallout New Vegas really good. The main reason for that is that I spent like 1000 hours playing Fallout 1 and 2 and I expect their successor to live their lifes, with the same world and atmospehere. Fallout: New Vegas gives me that.

I've played both Fallout 3 and New Vegas and I have not once used VATS. Also, your other complaints lead me to think that you're just terrible at the game (I don't mean to insult you though)

Fallout 3 makes you feel lonely as hell.
New Vegas does not make you feel lonely as hell.

Guess it depends on your mood. The gameplay is pretty much the same.

Both have decent stories.

It seems the main problem is that you think Fallout 3/NV are FPS games like Stalker.

They are are Oblivion with guns. i.e. RPG's

I don't quite get your issue with the weapons, espcially of you are coming from a game like STALKER. In which it is actually way harder in my opinion to get a decent assault rifle, while you are starting with just a pistol.
Also, if we are already comparing that, STALKER has a way less forgiving inventory system (forget about bringing along multiple weapons with plenty of ammo for them and medkits) where in Fallout, that is actually not quite that hard. If you don't play on the hardest setting, ammo doesn't even have weight.

Also, that the map is big, is true, and somehwat confusing at times (espcially in the DC ruins), but fast travel is there for a reason. I suggest you use it.

VATS, well, spend a lot of skill points on the small arms skill, Hunting Rifles and Assault Rifles (and their derivates you can find occasionally) become actually pretty good that way. At least, I maxed that out first, maybe because I was also coming from the STALKER series.

I started playing Fallout 3 as I got it suggested that I might like it on a topic about STALKER, and I actually did enjoy it greatly. But if you don't, by all means, just leave the game for what it is. If you thoroughly not enjoy FO3, I would advise against playing FO:NV, even though I never actually played the latter (yet).

New Vegas is better in almost every regard, but it came out after. You can't sprint there, either, though. But I'm guessing you're playing on PC? There are mods for that. Tons of mods.

You don't have to use VATS to fight. Aim with the left trigger, shoot with the right. Or aim with the right mouse button, shoot with the left. VATS is just there to... honestly I don't know what it's for. If you suck at shooting maybe? Or if you want the game to behave more like an RPG. Let your combat be decided by dice.

Music can be played from your PIP-boy. Press B on the controller or Tab on the keyboard to bring it up. But radio stations have limited range. The main one, Galaxy News Radio, can be upgraded via a quest, and then you should be able to pick it up all over. Radios in the game can also play music, but they are pre-set to one station and can only be switched on or off.

The first gun you get is the BB Gun and it sucks. The second gun you get is the 10mm pistol, and it's in perfect condition.

Again, New Vegas is better, but they're both RPGs, and it sounds like you're looking for a shooter. Still, they are two of the best games of the past generation, despite their bugs and flaws. Also, I too hated Fallout 3 when I first played it. I thought I'd like it since I loved Oblivion (same thing, but with swords and sorcery... oh and you can go to Hell as part of the game). But I kept at it and eventually it clicked with me.

If you want to give Fallout 3 a chance, and you like to shoot, delete your save and start over.

When you go to do the GOAT test, grab the Medicine bobblehead off the father's desk. This boosts your medicine skill 10 points. Permanent. There's a bobblehead for each skill, but not all are easy to find. When you take the test, ask the teacher if you can skip it. He'll tell you that you can choose your tag skills (they get a bonus of 15). Tag Explosives, Repair, and Small Guns.

When you get a second gun of the same type as another one you have (e.g. two hunting rifles) you can repair one with the other. You basically combine them. It's stupid, don't question the mechanics of it. This raises the condition. Special guns can be repaired with basic guns, but it goes both ways. Don't repair a hunting rifle with Lincoln's Repeater (one of the best guns in the game).

When you get to the first town, run past the Sheriff (don't let him speak to you). Run to the bomb in the middle of town and "use" it. Since you tagged Explosives, you will be able to disarm it. This gets you money, Karma, and a house. If the Sheriff talks to you, he'll tell you about the bomb, and you only get the money and the house. The house is a good way to store stuff you don't want to carry around. You can steal from others but nobody will ever steal from your house.

Your opening post is perfect example of everything what's wrong with current generation of gamers. Just buy yourself a PS4 and get RYSE while you're at it, considering what complaints you presented and "flaws" that you've found in game, i'm pretty sure console community will welcome you with open hands
