It is auto checked when they visit the site after winning. They simply never came back to notice it.

It's roughly a twentieth, but not 20% :)

As others have said, it's more like 5%, but even that seems a bit high.

I think the reason is probably because the giveaway was widely publicized, attracting people who aren't Steamgifts regulars. And, of course, since they don't visit the site regularly (and may not have even heard about it before), some of them likely entered the giveaway, forgot about it, and never came back to the site to receive their reward.

Is this true? I see people complain all the time about it.
