Such great persons deserve the best in their life, compassionate, generous and understanding. I hope from the bottom of my heart that the scammer dies or have an accident which will leave him handicapped for the rest of his life, that's all he deserves anyway.

So yesterday I was scouring the SteamTrades site for a while, looking to trade my Hitman: Absolution key for a Borderlands 2 one. I figured, seeing with the GamersGate mishap earlier, there's bound to be people willing to make that trade. It took me a while, but someone finally offered it and seeing as his SteamTrades account with a bunch of good rep linked to the -supposedly exact same- account as was talking to me, I went ahead and gave the key first.
Yup, scammed. Both accounts were on private, he just had the exact same picture and name. I felt so stupid. So utterly dumb and inattentive. So naturally I felt down, getting scammed out of my key. Not so much for the loss of money as for the fact that some people really are such shitheads. I told the same to some friends in a Steam private gifting group, who kind of talked me through it and gave me advice on how to avoid such things in the future. That I should learn from my mistakes - which I certainly will.
And then steps up some great guy. He felt bad for me, so he sent me the Groupees bundle, which had a few games I was certainly interested in. I was touched by his friendly gesture. Cut to half an hour later, and he sends me another message on Steam, asking if I'm still around. I say I am, he opens up a trade window... Borderlands 2.
Yeah, this guy just bought it for me because he felt that bad. Now he told me a little about his situation, that he's in a family where only one of two parents works. He also recently became a father. And still he just bought it for me. Needless to say, my faith in the good of humanity was restored, and so I'd like to show my utmost gratitude to this person.
His name is Gamer X. May he be an example of how good a human being can really be. Raise your glasses to him... and smile at the good nature of mankind.
