STM and SCE are both good.
Suggest you also check out 1:1 Trading Steam Group

especially Open Inventory subsection.

each individual game badge page will show (unless you got a full set already) whom of your friends own cards of this game on the bottom of the individual pages. well, with only 61 mid range level friends i don't know how successful that can be, but it's a start.
STM only will show you trades for cards of the same game and only if you have duplicates, but it's a major tool for me to complete sets.
To get cards of games you don't already have cards of SCE might be the bot you need. Of course there's a high chance that you'll have to pay the 50% extra credit cost for taking last cards, but I guess it is okay for your purpose. If you're lucky and the bot has duplicate cards of the set you want and isn't full (8 duplicates of a card) for the cards you want to toss at the bot, then of course it's a perfect trade for you.

I don't think it will end the inventory search bots, as that's all they do - it's up to the user to open the trade window and make the offer.

The problem is that if any user or bot declines your trade offer, you and the other user/bot will be locked from further trading for a full week. Valve wants everyone to use the steam market rather than trade via each other, because well, they only get their 5% fee there.

I am sure the bot writers will be working on this to make it work, and from what I see in some forms they already are. It will likely be some sort of script running on an emulator to say yes to everything once the bot itself accepts what ever trade request it receives..

Heh thanks for the lengthy reply.
I realized I could do the thing with friends, sent trade offers to 3 of them which would complete 4/5 of the set if they accept.
Can't use STM since I've got no cards for the set (trying to reach badge level 5).
SCE bot has no cards from that set (and believe me I've refreshed the inventory page a couple of times).
So I'll just wait for my friends to reply (which BTW are all offline or away :| ).

the swappy bot is also rather handy http://steamcommunity.com/id/swappy , but STM will be best for looking for cretin set as will the trade form of the game hub for each game.

I was recently given a ton of cards for free, so I thought why not trade some of them for a set I want. Problem is, I can't find those cards neither on bots nor users with lots of cards.
