premium edition is battlefield 3 + all the dlc // where as this sale is bf3 + then you need to buy premium // so the premium edition is cheaper since its already got all the dlc (I cant get the prices since im not in us.) however add up bf3 + Premium then look how much Premium Edition is.
the premium edition is the same as premium (in uk) so you get battlefield 3 for free (since its in the package)
Unless you want to play battlefield 3 with no DLC at all however

Battlefield 3: Premium Edition is $59.99 USD.
Battlefield 3 from Origin's one-day sale is $10.
Battlefield 3 Premium (service) is $49.99.
$10 + $49.99 = $59.99 USD.
Sure sounds like the same price to me.
The only difference is that the Premium Edition gives you the MP Head Start Kit (as GMG says) as well for the same price.
So, really, this deal is a great one if you don't want the DLC or are willing to wait to get it at a later date and then will only need to pay $10 right now to get the base game and be able to play half the maps immediately.
Edit: Comment below mine mentions the 20% off digital voucher at GMG that I completely forgot about. With that, you'll actually save $10 USD off the Premium Edition and essentially get the base game for free, depending on how you look at it! Total after voucher applied to Premium Edition: $48 USD.
