Really hope things will turn around for you, Gaffi. 💜
I don't see how leaving SG is going to help in the process, but if you feel you have to have a clean slate for a fresh start then so be it. Just know, as demonstrated in this thread, there a like minded people here that care and are willing to listen.

This is a dark time of year but the days are getting brighter, the winter solstice may be the real reason I appreciate this part of the season as the days finally brighten.

Life happens in the dark as well as in the light, Learn to appreciate them both, because they are life. It is not all bright and beautiful all the time. Don't dwell on this time, carry on and look forward.

There is a German proverb or saying that sounds almost banal, it could be Christian, but it has a certain meaning for me. It says:

"It is impossible for a man to look into the sun without his face becoming bright."
I'm not saying you should run naked into the sun and praise the sun or some god, or even think you can absorb the sun's energy through your asshole (don't google that), just maybe look further than your current Darkness.

We don't know each other because we users of this website all use it as a kind of persona or avatar, when we share things from our lives it's almost unusual, alien, but I love learning from people here who they are. They are like windows that show the real person behind the account, and it would be nice to see more of you.

It is clear to see how much you appreciate this site, and how much users here appreciate you, don't rob yourself of the happiness you had here, take a break if you need it, but stay here, the happiness you had here may not be here now, but it could come back, nothing is impossible.

I've rambled on enough already, but I'd like to say that a change of career or a change of job can be a source of a lot of happiness, I can speak from experience, and breaking free of a unhappy marriage can hurt like a motherfucker, but it could also be the best thing to happen to you, who knows.

Speak up and let someone be the ears to your words.

I wish you all the best.

Sorry to read about life taking a turn for you, Gaffi.
Some of life's changes are not always on our terms but sometimes the only way to improve things is breaking the status quo.
Your new job may turn out to be much better than you expect and you did good by quitting a job that wasn't valuing you.

I can't speak of your personal issues with your wife but maybe she just needs to realize that the grass isn't always greener and maybe you should also see other people and see if you are happier.
It's never easy for couples that have been together for years to move forward but it happens. Don't give up on her if you want to stay with her.

As for kids, give them space, they'll find their way back to you.

I hope you do stick around here because you'd be missed and I think it might be good for you to stay a part of a community that values you with everything else going on so I hope you reconsider and that you feel better tomorrow.
