I have no mouth and I must scream - uninstalled and watched on youtube. the story is nice, the game is crap, it glitched 2 times (I'm sure I did no mistake, I've checked a walk-through)

Dead space - that camera makes me feel sick, that controls tho...

I must say Super Meat Boy. You know that feeling where you're a inch away from the objective and you die? Or when you say "I have to jump more ahead" and you end jumping in the same spot and die? Hundreds of times in a row?

I can't say it's a bad game, cuz it's not. Actually it's hell fun. But...well it was too much for me.

Skyrim and Fallout 3: to much stuff to do. Got distracted from the main story and did whatever and explored ahead of the story. Then at some point I just stopped since the story had me not interested und gameplay couldn't hold me.

Super Meat Boy, Binding of Isaac : really hard to try and finish completly + because of programming/coding Binding of Isaac in flash I get stutters and it gets anoying quick.

Splinter Cell Conviction: liked the game but at some point Uplay kept resetting my savefile and I had to start 10 times from the same point (even if I was already ahead of that part) and quit it until today

I can't finish the story line of Dishonored and Alan Wake, I'm tired of playing those games. I finished them about 3-4 times(when there was no DLC available), and now can't play DLCs, because it's kinda boring for me :(

I'm too much of a perfectionist and if I go for 100% completion (or at least the percentage that I feel is reasonable for me) and get stuck halfway through it, it can cause me to halt the game indefinitely instead of simply accepting that I could complete it without reaching the goal achievements. Then again, the more interested I am in the actual gameplay/storyline, the higher the probability that I will disregard the achievements and simply play to enjoy it.
(Usually I perform a weighting of achievement difficulty versus game quality before actually starting a game to prevent this).

The Witcher: one of the first game i bought but I hated the view from above, so i stopped for a while but now (with third peson view) I've finished it.

Bioshock 2: the story was so boring, but i appreciate the controls: way more better than 1.

Kayne & Lynch: Dead Men : I can't even start the game, wtf is wrong with you?!

Dead Island Riptide - I've finished the first Dead Island with a friend (alone city was as far as I could get), though it was pain anyway... We wanted to continue with the story in Riptide but it turned out so boring, repetitive and similar to the original (why no innovations Techland?!) that eventually we gave up
Borderlands' DLCs - after finishing the main campaing we (another game I couldn't play alone but it was nice in co-op) we decided to go through the DLC. We finished The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned, Mad Moxxi's Underdome Riot and went to do The Secret Armory of General Knoxx I believe. At first we had a lot of problems with this DLC (mostly my friend getting crashed and disconnected), after dealing with those we've spent hours finishing all the little side quests in this DLC (what do you mean you don't have to do side quests?! of course you do! they're obligatory! :P ) we were preety annoyed with them but like "oh yeah finally done! let's go and beat the hell out of this DLC!" and then we were given lika a dozen of new side quests so we were like "nope. nope. nope. unistall. gg bye."
Borderlands 2 - again, playing with a friend, we've been already playing for a while, I was rocking Mechromancer, my friend went with Psycho. And suddenly in the middle of campaign he goes like "I don't like this Psycho here. I'd play with someone else. Let's start over." I was like "hell no! I'm ok with Mechromancer, I don't want to switch! Nor I want to do all this shit with Mechromancer again" and we kinda couldn't agree about it so we gave up...
Dishonored - I hate going stealthy. I'd rather go guns blazing and kill everyone around. But at the same time I don't want to have the bad ending. So I'm going stealthy... Wasting a few hours on every single mission. And still I end up with high chaos at the end! Anyway, I'm still progressing slowly. At pace of something like one mission a month, ebery two months maybe...
Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag (and Unity (and probably Syndicate soon :P)) - That's the one on top of my Pile of Shame. Beeing AC freak I'm still struggling with Black Flag. And I'm not saying that it's a bad game. No. It's a very good game. But the longer you play the more you feel that it's more like Pirate's Creed not Assassin's Creed... Anyway, I still have Black Flag installed, maybe I'll take on it soon and finish it. After ACIV I still have to deal with Unity. I've bought Collectors Edition (I think it was called Notre Dame Edition, ubisoft is always making so much of those special editions that I never really know...) and I haven't even installed it...
The Witcher (1, 2 & 3) - I won't start the second (or third) game in a series without completing the previous one! So here I am. With all the witchers standing there on my shelf with games, and beeing stuck on the first one...
Skyrim - can you even finish Skyrim?
Gothic, Gothic II, Two Worlds, Dragon Age, Risen, Fallout (1, 3, NV) - and many other open world RPGs... These are just a few that I've started but haven't finished. If I'd like to add all that I'd like to play the list would be even longer... I LOVE RPGs but it's always so hard to finish them - the vast open worlds to explore, hundreds of quest to finish, tons of loot to collect! For the games like these I wish for the weeks to last at least 10 days (with at least 5 days of weeknds ;) )
Kingdoms of Amalur Reckoning - this game is brilliant. Though after reading in some review that it has expected playtime of 100 hrs or so to finish the main story I was like "I don't have so much time! well, maybe when I retire, beeing 70 something yo I may have enough time to play it :D
E.Y.E: Divine Cybermancy - yet another one high on my Pile of Shame. I'm in love with this game. It's wonderfull. It's amazing. It's astonishing. And I don't play it. I don't really know why. It just sits there on my desktop waiting to be played.
And one last thing 'cause it's already a huge wall of text :P
The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing - this one, again, a game I love, It wasn't my fault that I haven't finished it. Somewhere towards the end of the game it broke on me. I was constantly crashing and I couldn't fix it :( Maybe, after I'll build myself a new PC I'll try to redownload it and finish it then (thank God for the steam cloud keeping my saves safe :P )

System Shock 2

Every time I try to play it I cant stand 10 minutes after the tutorial. The atmosphere is so damn well done that it almost made me literally pee my pants

Just because of the atmosphere? I played a bit but kinda gave up because I didn't really understand the RPG aspect of it right off and found it pretty difficult after a while :D

For me the RPG mechanics were easy to understand, they explain it all in the tutorial

I know, but when searching for a passage I didn't seem to be able to figure out myself I read an walkthrough/tutorial online and the RPG mechanics were soooooo complicated. Yet I did know about the basics, but they become more complex throughout the game.

I bought Command & conquer Tiberium Wars for the 360 a few years ago and gave up after a while because it seemed pretty difficult after a while and the controls were a pain in the ass. Strategy games are just not made for consoles.

Overlord. Its a great game, but I always stop. First time I got stuck on the sewers part where theres a giant newt that massacres your minions, started from 0 a few months later and passed that, but stopped shortly after. I dont know why.

Skyrim.
I got crazy hung up on roleplaying my character, and am now stuck at the main storyline where you have to take sides in the civil war. It felt wrong for the character no matter what I'd do, and I was scared I'd pass some point of no return and would rather finish all the sidequests.
So I did a whole lot of those, and then had to take a break at the start of the Dragonborn DLC. At some point you've just seen enough. I'll return to it someday.

You dont have to take sides on the civil war. I did all subquests first, then the main ones, THEN the civil war one.

Hmm, probably Bioshock. It seemed like a cool idea for game mechanics with an interesting story, but after a while I kind of got bored with it. I'm not sure exactly what it was about the game that made me stop though.

Sadly have a lot of good games I have started over the years but haven't finished yet, I cant think of any I have given up on completely, if they where that bad I probably didn't play far into them and have forgotten their names. Here is a small list of games I consider myself to be working on since I still have current saves, some I may have started years ago and some I have restarted more then once.

Alan Wake
Avernum Escape From The Pit
Beyond Good And Evil
Borderlands
Castlevania Lords Of Shadow
Child Of Light
Defenders Quest
Disciples Gold
Dishonored
Divinity 2 The Dragon Knight Saga
Hack, Slash, Loot
Hammerwatch
kingdoms of Amalur
Lords of Xulima
Majesty 2
Need for Speed Hot Pursuit
Orcs Must Die
Puzzle Kingdoms
Rogue's Tale
Steel Storm Burning Retribution
Stronghold
the Book of Unwritten Tales
The Elder Scrolls Oblivion
The Elder Scrolls Skyrim
Warlords 3
World Of Goo
Titans Quest Immortal Throne
Legend Of Grimrock
Infested Planet
Pillars Of Eternity
Galactic Civilizations
Heroes Of Might And Magic 6
Heroes Of Might And Magic 3 The Shadow of Death
Pools Of Radiance Ruins Of Myth Drannor
Age of Wonders 3 (what I am currently working on after extended hiatus)

In addition I have ten times this in games that are as good or better that I haven't started yet, those listed here are all very good games for me and some I am probably not far from the end in I am well into all of them.

Ruins of Myth Drannor is the collector edition I got it from original release most people I know hate the game related to the buggy release state, I never had issues as bad as I have read about from some people (Although I did have some issues on release and I am sure it is why I didn't finish it first time around), I have played well into it more then once and still intend to return and finish it.

Heroes 3 also deserves a note I played and finished the original campaign on release and then the first expansion, they where long and took me awhile, the second expansion the one I am currently on came out before I finished Armageddon, I intended to buy Shadows but then before I did they came out with the Heroes Chronicles A series of eight more expansions. They seemed to be coming out every other month and it took me half a year to finish Armageddon, I totally lost track of all those expansions and then came along Heroes 4, I got into that and well into one campaign I came to a bug where I had to restart hours of campaign with no promise it would not happen again, I decided to wait until they had a better patch I don't know if it ever got one. When Heroes 5 came along it looked very good but I wanted to at least try and play 4 first again and then in those days hard drive space was an issue these where the type of games I liked to play in segments and get back to but with the limited HD space of the time I could never have more then a small number of games installed and reinstalling every time I felt like playing a bit more was to much of a pain as it also meant I had to find something else to uninstall. Eventually HD space issues for me became much less relevant and the approaching release of Heroes 6 rekindled my interest in the series, I played the first chapter of Heroes 6 on release had fun with it then decided I wanted to go back and finish some of the earlier games which thanks to GOG I had all of including once forgotten Chronicles,. After taking inventory I realized Shadow of Death was where I needed to continue from and It is as long as I remembered from the original Heroes 3 and Armageddon Campaigns but I am through 5 of the seven missions in the campaign and figure that I will probably move on to Heroes 4 by the time Heroes 8 is out and will get back to the heroes chronicles in the next life.

I can vouch for Beyond Good and Evil and World of Goo being good to finish. Titan Quest I finished, but it wasn't anything special. My wife finished Pillars of Eternity but found the ending just meh.

Guagamelee's final boss was just too tough for me:( Also Disciples 3 has so many bugs an poor save-game implementation. Too many times I've spend hours to get to the end of the map, only to find that I broke something along the way. Unless you made a savegame at the very begining of that map, you'd have to restart the entire campaign over again. that and it was just fairly meh all around made it not worth it.
