What do you think? I'm getting sick of having 5 AAA games at the end of the giveaway list for 4 weeks only to have them be fake.

Maybe shorter? I am just being conservative. I think this would discourage people from making fake giveaways when their giveaway would only be up for a few days.

There is literally 0% logic in your statement.

Why would having giveaways be up for long encourage people to make fake giveaways? 90% of fakes are due to idiot users not understanding how shit works or expecting the site to spit out games to, or for them. The remaining 10% are people promoting their shitty youtube or so in the description, then deleting the giveaway once its' purpose has been served. This is the only motivation someone might have to make a fake giveaway last longer. And even then, making them shorter for new users won't help any at all.

Generally just stay away from new users giving away A list games.

I don't think that would do anything to be honest. Just use them as point banks like I do :P

You don't have to enter fake giveaways, so you don't have to wait for them for four weeks either :).

Shouldn't new timers, if anything, be given more time to figure shit out?

They should have it figured out before they make a giveaway no?

There isnt exactly many good tutorials that are easily exposed to new members, other than maybe a wall of text NOBODY is going to read when they have a simple question that only needs a short answer. I think nearly everyone here learned how to do a giveaway by simply doing it.

Besides, what is there to figure out before they make a giveaway? It is pretty straight forward.

The problem is, when you make a giveaway, its nowhere written with big red letters :D :D, that you have to actually give the game to the winners ...
So lots of people just think, "Hell, yeah, I make a COD II giveaway, and wish good luck in my description, let the site choose the winner and then give the game ! !!111!" ...
I know, its common sense, just some people dont have it. :/ (Or english skills. :) )

This is the message, the first timers see: (And I understand, it can be confusin, cause one of my friend, whos great in logical things, but not good at other languages, first thought the same, as I mentioned, and had to ask me about this page, cause he thought, its kinda fishy. :D)

Important: All gifts should be Steam redeemable CD keys or Steam gifts only. Winners will be automatically generated at random by SteamGifts to ensure all entries have an equal chance of being selected. The e-mail addresses of the winners will be viewable on the Manage Your Giveaways page, where you'll also be able to track user feedback. If you have any questions, take a second to post on the forum. Thanks.

More explanation on the create a giveaway page for the first few giveaways you create would be better.
I remember when I did my first giveaway there was nothing on the page that actually said "You know you have to give this game to the winner at the end of the timer, yea?".
