Hello and welcome to the madness!
The challenge is simple: Play and beat any 6 games, starting today, that have been featured in any given Humble Monthly/Choice bundle in one month.

The prize: Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin

Game length does not matter and I'm not looking for 100% achievement runs. So long as you play and beat 6 games, I'm happy. You can go easy mode and play a bunch of 1h games or go crazy and play 6 +30h games. So long as they were in a monthly at a given point, it is all good.

Just post a comment with either screenshots/ achievements showing that you fulfilled the criteria and I'll add on Steam and give you the link. Feel free to share your thoughts on the games you've played, but it is not required.

FAQ:

Why you doing this?

I hate money. That and I realized I've been subbed to the monthly for over five years (yes it has been that long, I checked) and it occurred to me that I've barely touched the games I've gotten from it, let alone played them. Figured the same would be true for a few others, so I figured this is a good way to change that. A sensible person would probably unsub in this situation, but please refer to the beginning as to why that will not happen.

I've played the first X minutes of a game, can I pick it for the event?

No. You cannot have any play time or achievements prior to the start of the event. The only exception is idle time from farming Steam cards.

Can I play a MP only game?

No. It needs to have an "end" in order for me to count it as beaten, so it needs to have a campaign/story mode.

Why six games?

The first few monthlies had 6/7 games in them so I went with that.

How long are you going to do this?

Until my credit card statements gives me nightmares.

This event "ends" on September 7th when the next HB Choice releases, though the giveaway itself will end the next day. If you manage to finish game number six in between that time, feel free to post, but know that I cannot guarantee that I'll be able to give you the link in time.

Good luck, have fun and stay safe.
Thanks for reading, and don't forget to yolo on dogecoin.

Would completing a run in a roguelite count as a beaten game ? Like One Step From Eden or Nowhere Prophet

What about Popup Dungeon which has several campaigns with multiple endings each, would beating one campaign count ?

Obviously it's up to CJ for each game, but I believe ideally he is looking for un-muddied waters when it comes to completion, such as Nowhere Prophet having an achievement that straight up says "You beat the campaign" I'm pretty sure that one will be fine, but for ones with short runs that are designed to be replayed beating a single run probably isn't in the spirit of completing the game.

"It needs to have an "end" in order for me to count it as beaten, so it needs to have a campaign/story mode."

Since multiplayer games are expressly disqualified, and in the same line I would consider sandbox games to also not be valid, for Popup Dungeon I am afraid that to actually consider the whole campaign completed you would have to finish all 25 of the story campaigns.

Again this is just my take on the rules from what I have seen him comment in his previous threads, so good luck with your games and better luck in your giveaways!

For Popup I'm cool with a single story campaign. So long as I can count it as a technical story ending, I'm fine with it. For example, a VN generally has multiple routes that one could take, but completing a single route still has a fleshed out story behind and could be its own thing. Granted some games have bad endings that are really short, which is kinda cheating, but if that is all a person wants to experience of a game, then it is fine.

I didn't see this comment but I will probably play it for another month then, I intend to play all the campaigns but the game has too much content to be done in a month (this playlist has over 120h of the game)

For games with multiple endings, finishing one of them is fine. For roguelites, it would need to be one with a story element attached to it that can count as an ending. So a single run wouldn't count as beaten but completing the story attached to it would.

nice 100%s on Vane and Morkredd, not as easy as it looks!

Vane is easy to 100% because after finishing the game there is a level select and you can jump at whatever level you are missing an achievement and get it fast without playing the whole game again.
Morkredd is more annoying because you have to play the whole game if you miss an achievement, for the not dying achievement which is the one the least people have you can "cheat" the game by instantly quiting to menu and resume game if you happen to die, that way the game doesn't register your death and you continue from your last checkpoint.

Ah yes, the classic Alt+F4 method. That's good because both of those seemed a little tiresome. After finishing one playthrough of each I felt good about my time with them and decided to leave it at that without risking it souring by going for 100%.
That last quarter of morkredd was just super strange.... and that part near the end where they crank the difficulty up for just one section was really out of place, so even with the quit to menu trick props for getting it!
