I'd be up for that. I do play such games, but a bunch of them are on itch.io so not all are represented when I Steam. I'll send a friend request. I do some puzzle, rhythm, and casual. My rhythm games are usually on console though. Space Channel 5, Rock Band, Just Dance, etc. just got Super Crazy Rhythm Castle though, so hopefully get to that at some point.

Count me in too. Haven't really played many JRPG, but I'm into all the others you mentioned.
My first created giveaway here was for DROD. It's really a hidden gem and one of the best puzzle games I ever played.
I also recommend Just Shapes & Beats that I played recently. A masterwork in rhythm games.

I totally agree Just Shapes & Beats, I have never played a better rhythm game in my life. And the most important thing is that everyone can enjoy it, because the difficulty level is not high

Oh, the recommendation for Just Shapes and Beats reminds me that I also played ...um... that game... oh, Necrodancer! Crypt of the Necrodancer on Switch (available on other things). And there was a trial of the Zelda Necrodancer, but somehow I found the original more compelling, despite having fans of Zelda games in the house. Tricky game, but interesting.
Also, of course, Elite Beat Agents on Nintendo DS, and the Japanese Osu! sequels. Got some good scratches on my screen protector from those annoying swirl parts, but really liked the other aspects of the game. Don't think those were released on other systems.

i might be a good candidate. all the games you mention i either own or have wishlisted (rhythm doctor is one of my most wanted), and i love anything puzzle-related. i don't write a whole lot of reviews, but i do occasionally. recently picked up that escape room bundle on hb so i'm looking forward to diving into those games soon.

It's kinda the type of games i like, indies and small, sometimes quirky and different.
Although i rarely buy games and don't have a lot of time to play, but the most unknown the game i enjoy is, the better the chance i'll write a review for it. If that is okay and you don't mind having me in the friends list, who knows maybe eventually u will see a gem. If not that's all good too

cool, i review occasionally jrpg and casual games, and i am interested in puzzles too

I know! At least they said they will fix the hardware issue for the offline mode, but who knows if it will be good enough. Like honestly, who is managing them?? "We know a bunch of people haven't bought it because it doesn't have an online mode, so let's announce an offline mode.... and then GIVE THE GAME AWAY FOR FREE BEFORE IT COMES OUT so we don't get any money from offline mode, and also never fix any bugs"

Huh, this is an unorthodox way to find out about this piece of news. That's such a pity.
I've never started Islands of Insight since I thought once I did, the game would be consuming all of my time. Like some drug for puzzle-lovers. So now that there'll be no more updates... maybe it'll be safe to start...? :D

I don't usually write reviews but if you see a game I have played and ask me about it I will give you an honest opinion. I play a bit of everything. I have been playing Daedalic games which might be the closest thing to what you are interested in. I also have Gamepass so if there is something on there I could always download it and let you know about it.

The genres I play are generally single player, so why do I want friends? I am looking to add friends that play these genres of games and who write reviews for games at least occasionally, to enhance my Steam shopping experience. I have a bunch of friends on Steam, but I can count on one hand the friends I see reviews for. It would also be nice to see any niche games in these genres being purchased or played in the Friend Activity page, or on the Steam Deck front page (it shows a row with games your friends have been playing recently).
Not a single friend owns Lorelei and the Laser Eyes (a wonderful puzzle game that came out a couple months ago), and only one even has it wishlisted. Similar for Rhythm Doctor, Melatonin, Islands of Insight (at least a couple picked it up when it was completely free last week), etc. The JRPGs and Casual games have a bit more friend activity, but still only around maybe 5 people.
I don't write reviews for everything I play, but I do try and highlight hidden gems I've found or voice my criticism when the game is buggy or badly designed.
I'm pretty busy so I won't be reaching out much at all to chat or send requests to play together, I just want to see more relevant activity on the store page :)
