I always do these elaborate cakes for my kids so my daughter figured it would be nice if I got one myself in return.
I have read the whole trilogy (all 5 books), watched the old BBC TV series and the newer movie as well. This is such comedy gold.

I'm 31 and aging like hinges in the rain. Complete with stiff and noisy joints (that you occasionally need to hit with a hammer so they bend correctly).

Like hinges, you need to bathe yourself in oil to stop the creaking. And if it doesn't work, it should at least do wonders for your skin.

Yes, it would. It probably comes from being surrounded by an English speaking nation, but we tend to use mostly "fête" for birthdays and "anniversaire" for anniversaries.

That's how old I turned today.
I am now the answer to life, the universe and everything. Or, at the very least, I know where my towel is.
My 13 yo daughter made me this nice cake today. (That's Mr Gost from Letter Quest, for anyone wondering.)
