i just got a steam message that the "dead island GOTY" was revoked.

i highly doubt the giver had any payment issues, since he/she is a good contributor to this community and its just a (humble)-bundled game.

not sure hat do do. anyone else had this problem? any suggestions?

Sad to hear that.
Your best options are:

  • mark the game as non received
  • create a ticket and tell the support what happened
  • contact the giveaway creator and explain him the issue too

This is one of the reasons I've started using HB and IG gift links more. They're a pain in the arse, but there have been too many cases of erroneously revoked keys lately, and I want people to know for sure that I got the keys from a legit site.

i suppose this is a case of a erroneously revoked key.

my major concern is not offending/harming the ga creator by just marking as "not received" - but having a game marked reveived without having it on my account is probably also not an option. perhaps support can just delete the ga or something like that.

BTW, I also gave away a Dead Island key that's probably from the same Humble Bundle, so I'm slightly concerned about that.

Addendum: Looks like it's still in their Steam account.

Support can delete the gib so long as the creator asks for it and you give your permission to do so.
