Tuesday is Independence Day for the United States, so if you ask me it would be the perfect opportunity for an explosive indie bundle.

And Friday is the next Monthly ... so don't expect anyting big or good. They probably take the day off and don't have a bundle at all.

Well I was hoping for a bundle since July 4 fell on a Tuesday but it looks like they went with a DRM-free store sale instead.

And it is not even a particularly good sale. The selection is nice, but for some reason quite a few have worse prices than at previous Humble sales.

Haven't really had a chance to look at it yet but unlike Steam more may get added. In a way I sort of miss when they used to do flash sales as well.

Also, there's just one tiny problem with all of those sales (Humble, GOG, GMG whatever): Steam usually has an advantage due their trading card system. Even though, I don't want to buy stuff from big bad Gaben all the time, I tend to get like €10 or so from one sale to another by just cashing in those cards... giving Steam a €10 advantage, no matter what.

That requires buying a ton of games. Most of the people actually buy stuff they play and that 10-cent advantage for a single game (maybe 50 if it is using some rare but traded cards) is particularly that enticing compared to having the game actually for yourself instead of licensing it at Valve's whim. Especially when one experiences such nice things related to this system as Steam now stating you are Russian, because we say so.

Oh, I don't buy any games for cards. There's so much free stuff that comes with cards and then there's the summer/holiday sale cards as well. It's only a few cents each, but it ads up. I have two accounts, so I get twice as many, all in all it accumulates to about €10 from one Steam sale to the next one.

Don't think so. If you click the Humble Bundle sponsor link on the SGDQ-webpage, you're sent to the Humble Monthly Bundle page where it says something to the extent of "we will donate all subscription fees of everyone who subscribes to the Monthly Bundle during SGDQ". Plus, there wasn't a bundle during AGDQ this year.

3 weeks without a new bundle. There has to be something today. I'm torn between "it will be totally great" and "it will be full of repeats because Steam Sale". Can't decide.

Guessing a console bundle. Devs will be too scared about people refunding after the steam sale if the game they just bought is in a bundle.
