Did the game live up to your expectations?
Just play Space Engine, it's free and has more planets than NMS.

Eh. I like it.
Some people are just so invested in the game being a failure and it's tiring.

If the comment does not apply to you then it probably wasn't about you?
As someone that doesn't have any choice other than to be surrounded by this stuff, I'd reallylike the people that enjoy the game to just enjoy it (and not DDOS people) and for all of the others that think there was some grand deception at work to just move on and not pay it any attention.

There aren't any assumptions being made. Again, you think that I'm referring to those that are doing little more than state their disinterest (i.e. people like you). I'm not. I'm talking specifically about the people that have been flooding Twitter and comment sections to tell everyone they were "right" about it being terrible. It's a useless statement that doesn't welcome any debate or discourse.
Be disinterested about whatever you want. I sure as hell am.

It's normal for people to reject something when they have been fed nonstop with news and previews and sneak peeks, trying to get everyone to ride the 60$ hype train, and then the diamond they promised you is more like a turd.

Except it's not. Everything presented in that original post just screams of hyperbole and entitlement. If you want to throw shade at Sony for their messaging, sure. Most are in agreement that there was an issue there, but to present the game as some giant failure because people convinced themselves that the game was something that it wasn't is dishonest.
Those that kept their expectations in check and actually listened when Murray tried to explain what the game was are enjoying it just fine. It's the segment of people that didn't pay attention that are going nuts now, wondering where the multiplayer is in this game that they flat out told you wasn't about that, or complaining about planet variation because they seem to not understand how procedural generation at that scale actually works.
It doesn't "outrageously fail". If you don't like the game, fine. Acting like you were somehow wronged by it is silly, though.

Blame the victim, us, consumers, for listening to their siren chants and promises. How I am entitled for being dissapointed at the fact that many of the advertised features are missing.
I don't care about a gamer. I won't play or get near NMS ever most likely, it's definitely not my cup of tea. However as a consumer is my best interest to hold companies accountable for their promises.

Like, read that. Really read that and then tell me again that you don't understand how you come off as melodramatic and entitled.

So a game that you won't play and don't want didn't end up being what it wasn't promised. But yes. You're a victim, clearly.

Developers did try to downplay the hype and adjust expectations as development went along.
Sony marketing tried to hype up the marketing because they thought this would be the next killer app for the PS4, and the next industry changer. (As if a 15-man company, not all of which will be developing games, can realistically pull that off).
The whole Sony connection is probably also why the PC version has a ridiculous price point - to keep parity with said PS4 release.
And that's how we end up with a fairly interesting experimental project being caught in an exploding hype bubble.

Was excited about it... when I first heard about it at LAST year's E3. But as time passed and how vague the dev was on what the game was about, I stopped paying attention to it for the most part and stopped reading the articles and watching stuff. I lost all interest in it sometime before the end of last year. Then with the pushing release date back couple times, then the last few weeks of watching things go down with the media circus around it, I decided once more I still have zero interest in it.

I watched some gameplay and the game is exactly what i expected. maybe a little bit uglier, but i think that they wanted to patch the texture quality and some more things so its fine. I dont understand the pricetag though.

Heh.
If we're going to compare No Man's Sky to Black & White / Fable / Godus, Star Citizen is starting to compare to Duke Nukem Forever.

1.) Star Citizen
2.) No Man's Sky
3.) Nintendo
Not necessarily SG, but the general gaming community. They can't wait to tell you NMS sucks and they always knew it would be boring. Hate train is the new hype train.

I only want Nintendo to fail because I want them to stop making consoles and put their games on Steam for us :D
I think if they just started porting all their games to PC/Mobile/Consoles they would be make so much more money, I don't get what is stopping them.
Plz don't let SC die though, I spent too much money on it to die before launch.

I agree with your sentiments. However, people are free to do whatever they want with their money, just as you are.

Yep that's my opinion
I'm saying this because people always pre-ordering then complain it's an awful game never going to pre-order but then did it again
But yes as you say, they're free to do whatever they want xD
I, personally think pre-order is bad for gaming industry, it just made the developers becoming bad (not sure if my words are correct)

I think in this case the great Wizard king would approve :D

Really did see this coming people were expecting way too much. I watched Jims video and wow that he's getting so much hate for it he wasn't even that harsh on the game and said he would continue to play for a bit but you can't not like something right? Seriously people make me sad can't kill em all not everyone is an ass.

So, one of the most overhyped games of the present milennia has finally released. And to the surprise of many of it's preorders it seems to outrageously fail to deliver on most of the promises done during its development
No multiplayer: while it was true that this seems to have never been a hardcore MP game (or so its defenders claim) the game seems to have no sorts of multiplayer whatsoever (I mean, unless you count as seeing L337 names on your space as multiplayer) which goes agains the multiple and reiterative promises Sean did.
To those claiming the game was never intended to be multiplayer in the first place http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2016-08-11-no-mans-sky-limited-edition-has-online-play-icon-hidden-under-sticker
Buggy mess Terrain clipping, exploits, take offs seem to be bugged as hell, with the ships having a weird tendency of hitting things out of its way. (Example of game breaking bugs https://www.reddit.com/r/NoMansSkyTheGame/comments/4x1moy/gamebreaking_bug_redeeming_the_preorder_ship_at_a/
https://www.reddit.com/r/NoMansSkyTheGame/comments/4x53st/so_theres_another_game_breakin_but_i_found/
Ringed planets? Seems that Sean didn't like his own game, cos we all know that if you liked it then you should've put a ring on it.
Procedurally generated jillions of planets Like "slightly different" planets
Anyways, save 60 dollars and play this instead http://www.joshandjayshow.com/no-mans-sky-beta/
Same experience.
