Same for you?
Damn. I spam too much. 222 pages for me, May 24th too.

And that's only the comments, I got a reply to.
Most of my comments should be "Invited" in Unlucky7's recruitment thread, although the number of join request decreased a lot lately.

That would kinda defeat the purpose of having a messages history in the first place.
At any rate, it used to go back to I assume at least to the startup point of the publicly available SGv2, so I am still curious what happened, since the site admin never mentioned anything like that.

It is more to check recent replies. Be honest, how many people need to check replies that far back.
Beats when it was locked to page count at least.

Indeed, my messages history only go back to May 24th.
I'm registered since April 5th, and I started to visit the forum on the 27th, but I I'm sure I had a few messages before that, mainly from bots users who posted generic thanks in my first public giveaways.

WOAH, sorry for hijacking topic, but I need to ask you how long have you waited since your issue got resolved ?
I have got exact same problem where winners are more than keys and one person needs to be deleted, because he won and can't be re-rolled, and only Admin can solve this :(
My ticket is open for 2 month already, but I am not in a hurry and can wait, just curious how much.

It's limited for performance reasons, to keep the messages page loading fast and to keep people from browsing too far into the past which would take longer to load. The vast majority of users are just checking new messages, so 6 months seemed to provide a decent balance between performance and message history.

At least it only affects this site. It would be pretty bad if Trades would have limited message history as well.
As someone whose job is to properly manage information for posterity, I am really not fond of any change that limits accessible archived messages, but it's your site and you pay the server costs, so I guess I can only pitch in my opinion.
At any rate, can I at least ask to put this up in the Announcements sub-thread? If the removal of Sales—which only concerned 2% of the users, according to the info there—could have one, maybe this change could interest at least that many people. :)

It's been limited for almost two years. The query to merge all the messages is fairly complex, so for the best performance it was hardcoded to only show comments with an ID number greater than N, where N was the ID of a comment a month in the past. Once every 6 months or a year I'd increase the value of N, when performance was starting to suffer due to the increase in message history being shown. It's not exactly ideal, but until more time can be invested into the messages page, it works fairly well.

I remember from last announcement that the database was moved to a better server or sth and it will take time to cache so page will take time to load etc. But any chance you time traveled back to when the database transfer underway and hence having this issue? I figured not :|

I don't see anything in the announcements and I don't remember any mention of a database cleaning or a loss of data. Yet my message history now suddenly goes back by only five and a half months; or, to be more precise, I don't see any message before 2016-05-24.
Did I miss something, is it some local glitch on my account, or others experience it as well?
