I am considering getting a new mouse because my current mouse I cannot do a quick 180 turn in fps games. Whenever I flick the mouse too fast (to do a 180 in FPS games) the mouse cannot handle how fast I moved it and slows/jumps backwards. This happens on any settings.
I have been researching this and it appears that it is most likely because I chose a cheap mouse.
https://www.prohavit.com/products/hv-ms672-mouse/

What settings should I be looking at to see how fast I can flick the mouse? This is still confusing me because I do not get all the settings.

So the things I am looking for are....

  1. A mouse that I can move very quickly without any issues
  2. Side buttons

Please give my cheapest options as well as higher end options!
Thanks everyone!

EDIT: I bought G502 ----> https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B019OB663A

EDIT2: G502 is very good! I am happy with my purchase! Currently no mousepad and no issues!

Seems VERY cool, however, I am worried to see the price and it does not appear to have side buttons.

I personally prefer the G602; it has less button clutter.

+1 for Logitech. I like Logitech mice. My last three mice have been Logitech. I'm currently using a G502. It's ugly as hell, but it's the most comfortable mouse I've held in my hand. I also like their software which lets you program the buttons, which comes in handy for console ports/games that don't recognize more than two mouse buttons. I also love the dual mode scroll wheel which lets you switch from clicky mode to freewheel mode.

+1 for Logitech

Having got used to their build quality (especially their scroll wheels - RIDICULOUS that no one else seems to be able to get them right) I wouldn't dream of getting one from anyone else.

My logitech g203 prodigy is the best/cheapest investment I have made. Has one of the best sensors in the world. Why is it cheap then? Because Logitech wanted to test the waters before developing higher end versions of this mouse, since this was their first home made sensor. Also remember to measure your hand and type of grip, there are mouses that fit certain types of grips and hand sizes better than others.

Don't buy a mouse. Just leave some garbage around and eventually one will come to you.

Meh, there was a time when I had about 50 of them (I admit, the situation was a bit out of control back then).

well I mean you gotta be responsible with genders

Tell that to my mother, a biologist, by the way. She felt sorry for the poor lonely male mouse, yeah. Sure, it's cruel to adopt a single social animal, but why not just get a couple of the same gender ones from the very beginning? Usually they get along perfectly well (at least spiny mice do).

Were there any male mice available or did she buy a female mouse companion purposefully, or were there no other male mice available to adopt? Because I mean it's kind of a given what would happen

I honestly couldn't understand her logic back then. She's a smart woman, but a bit impulsive sometimes. Anyway, while it was a lot of bother, it was actually fun to have a large colony of spiny mice at home.

I'd recommend Logitech G402 that I own myself, it's really good.

I always recommend the Redragon Perdition. This link in particular is more expensive than I picked mine up for (about $15), so shop around first.

I don't feel qualified to make a specific recommendation, since I tend to buy cheap, but I did want to post this excellent guide: http://www.overclock.net/forum/375-mice/951894-truthful-mouse-guide.html
It taught me a lot about different mice; for instance, I hadn't realized before reading it that optical mice are most likely better than laser mice.

Second that, Logitech is my go-to for mice for years now, guess it comes down to preference and hand size if that or Razer. Just don't forget to buy a proper mouse pad, I tend to go for the bigger, the better.

SteelSeries Rival 100 is a cheap mouse that has all of your bases covered.
I use a Zowie FK2. It feels just right in my hand at it is really lightweight (84g).

Check the list above and some reviews from the youtuber. You should go to your local brick and mortar and fondle what they have on offer. See what fits your hand.

You should also invest in a proper mouse pad. SteelSeries' QCK pads are quite popular.

Nah just get a Goliath Extended mouse pad off Ebay. That is what I did. Except mine is much longer.

Also MrGreenChips if you are reading- this is my mouse and it is great

I've heard that Logitech has great mice. Any sensor that goes into the new mice are at least decent, except of course the extremely cheapo ones. I'd suggest spending the extra buck and buying something that is somewhat decent.

I own the Razer Deathadder 2013 and even though I like it a lot, I wouldn't recommend it.

I personally prefer Razer mice. I love the Imperator (2012 edition). Don't have the new one yet (Lancehead), but I am pretty sure it's just as good as all the other ones. I tried Roccat, I tried Logitech - didn't like them. Logitech produces great office mice (I have a MX Master here at work). But I never liked their mouse wheels for gaming. So yeah, if you ask me - go for Razer. I can personally vouch for DeathAdder, Imperator, Mamba. and as i said, i bet the new Lancehead is just as good, if not better (going to buy it soon).

EDIT: Also don't forget about a proper mouse pad! this is almost as important as the mouse itself.

Same here, Razer products haver always performed really well for me. And yes, getting a mouse pad is a must too if one wants to get the best performance with a new mouse. Some people say that it's just enough with a white paper sheet, and maybe it is for office work, but not so much when it comes to gaming. I learned that the hard way lol.

Buy an optical mouse, not a laser mouse; because a laser mouse detects movement even when you lift your mouse (to re-center it on your mousepad).

I'm not going to recommend a mouse, it's a very personal taste, all I can say is that you have to be sure that your hand fits the mouse the way you expect, some are too big, others too small, the buttons are not in the best place for your grip style, some are too slippery, so my advice is to go somewhere where you can try them out and choose, any optical mouse over 1600 DPI should be enough unless you are a professional gamer and need any little extra help.

Very good advice. I ended up not using my brand new Deathadder Elite because of this, the mouse was way smaller than I was used to (Naga 2014) and the grip didn't feel as good as I thought it would be.

Do not buy a mouse. Buy a hamster. they are funnier and cleaner. Although they are not as smart as mice, but they are cute little MF.

Just limit yourself to one, otherwise you'll get a lot of fighting and/or a bunch of additional hamsters pretty soon.

I know Razer gets a lot of hate, but the Razer Naga 2014 its the best mouse I've ever had, I still use it and it works flawlessly. I very much recommended it if you have big hands. Though it has a lot of buttons, once you get the hang of it they'll become quite useful for any game. I bought mine like in december 2013 and it has performed really well since then. I also bought the Deathadder Elite a while ago but I haven't used it much, mainly because it's smaller than I thought and my big hand doesn't fit as well as with the Naga.
