...please, just don't.
Really, it's too much of a hassle for everybody involved.

There're two versions of the game, with different names, IDs, and availability (restricted by IP), but otherwise the same content:

  • Check vs Mate is the North American version, and the one Steam Gifts can access due to being based in Canada;
  • Battle vs Chess is the international version, and the one that's usually sold in bundles (and also the only one with cards, for some reason).

Steam Gifts staff considers them to be the same game for activation purposes, so that part wouldn't pose an issue.
The real issue, however, would be that pretty much the entire userbase would be able to enter (since NA ownership is checked, and few own it), but the majority would be unable to activate the key, since it's actually an (overbundled) EU key.

I guess it could be done with SGTools filters, if you're willing to spare the effort to earn the little CV it provides.
Or just drop it somewhere if you just want to give it away.

Why use sgtoold when he can just set regions when creating GA.

Because, just as I stated above, lots of users can enter since ownership of the rare North American ID is checked, but many will actually own the one that's being given away, since bundlers go for a "one size fits all" approach when stocking up on keys.

SGTools could filter out owners of the international version, as that kind of check is done through the API.

It's not region-locked. I'm in NA, so I can't buy Battle vs. Chess, and can only buy Check vs. Mate... however, I've got Battle vs. Chess in my library, and I have its trading cards.

So even though there are regional differences, they're not actually tied to regions. The game's publisher has made it very confusing for everyone!

MikuIT said some cant activate the key. Thats why I just said limit it to those regions that can activate it. :)

From what I knew everyone can activate and its just same store page but diffrent packages. But seemed like MikuIT knew what he was talking about so thats why I asked.

I have given the game away here without any bother. It says "check vs mate" when creating the giveaway. But when I click on the thumbnail, it directs me to the Battle vs Chess Steam page.

Well they need to receive version they can activate. If they can't activate game they would need mark giveaway as "not received".

My suggestion is that giveaways should always be created using the SteamID (211050) of the game. This avoids confusion and is how SG track wins/activations.

How do you create a giveaway with the SteamID? While I don't have this key to give away, when I start to create a giveaway and enter "211050" I get "No results were found."

I copied the 211050 from the OP description. The link actually takes me to Steam ID 211070. I verified that a GA can be created with 211070. It possibly changes by region.

You can search by Steam ID in Steam or in the SG GA creator.

I agree game names can be confusing. I find that using Steam ID instead of game names has been helpful to me.
