This news is pretty good. 2 free games for owning the older versions, updated graphics for current gen. But if they do this remaster,
does that mean they'll pull out the original versions and only sell the remasters?

Surely they'll remove the old versions from the store. Wouldn't make much sense otherwise. (They'll stay in your library of course.)

"BioShock Infinite is not being remastered on PC because it already meets current-gen console standards and runs smoothly on high visual settings."
I'm assuming that Infinite is the one that you are referring to as "current gen"?
So PC owners are really only getting upgraded for 1 & 2 and if they own the Minerva's Den DLC for 2 it will also get upgraded.

You won't regret it, is a great DLC.
I think I even liked more the short-story told in Minerva's rather than the base game.

why does this make you want to buy that DLC, with the remastered version it well have that included anyway, no?

Bioshock 1 and 2 are outdated by today's standards. I tried playing them a few months ago and could see the difference with Infinite.
If they could improve the graphics and functions without silly bugs to Infinite level, it's good.
(cough I will get it for free, well thanks cough)

Great news! ^^
Guess I will be playing again B1 and 2 on September then :D

Is minerva's Den worth it? I have no Bioshock games but plan to buy Bioschock triple pack.

Absolutely! Great 4-5 hours story with some innovations gameplay-wise. I don't know current price but I grabbed it for 2€ during last sales and it totally worths every cent. No problems with crashes for me...

But they said you would only get the remastered only if you *already own it though.
So if you activate it after remastered edition is out, you probably won't get the remastered for Minerva's Den.

Are they going to pull the original games from the steam store?

If you don't have Infinite and want to get it (in addition to either or both Bioshock 1 and 2), it's better to buy its Bioshock Infinite + Season Pack package first, because the Triple Pack is a Steam "bundle", which means you will get a discount for the other games. If you buy the Triple Pack first and then Bioshock Infinite + Season Pack, you won't get anything off for owning the base Bioshock Infinite game, because that package is of the type "sub", which charges you for its full contents, regardless of whether you own some of the items or not.

hmm indeed I was thinking of waiting to the season pass when it was 75% off so would workout to be NZ$22.43 while buying now would be NZ$25.64 so could save some money waiting if it does go for 75% off one day, even at 65% off would workout sightly cheaper but yeah is still tempting to get it now even though I won't have time to dive that much time into it, logically it seems wiser to wait

The problem with waiting in this situation is that we don't know what will happen to the pricing in the future. Just look at the Skyrim situation this sale, when it was announced that owners of the Legendary Edition would get the remastered version for free. It's very probable that future discounts may be lower than the ones now. I wouldn't count that the Season Pass would get to 75% off. I'd be surprised, if it even gets to -66%. It might also turn out that they remove the ability to buy just Bioshock Inifinite, so you'd have to buy the complete new collection to get it. Not saying this will happen, but it's something to consider.

Infinite pricing/sales shouldn't be effected as that isn't being remastered on pc.

maybe you could be right, so get it now for $25.64, later at 75%off for $22.43 or if only 50% off $29.92 hmm
what's this about Skyrim? so many Remastered titles lately
is that for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim it says you only get a discount so ehh don't think i'll both getting that :P

the season pass has been 75% off before so it should again in the future

Great news for me. I started the first Bioshock five years or so but abandoned it, don't remember why even. Never touched the second one. It was on my shorter list of things to play and I guess I'll wait for the remasters now.
Them being free is also great, wouldn't expect that from 2k.

Remastered games usually are GOTY editions with improved graphics. I think they will come as a pack with all DLC regarless.

"...And if you already own BioShock, BioShock 2, and/or Minerva’s Den on Steam, you will be able to upgrade to the remastered version of the respective title(s) for free after release. It’s a circus of values!"
