I've been using avast! for a while now and while it's been working for me, I wonder if there is a better one out there.

Eset Nod32 best av imo.

Using it for 6 years, always very light, never missed something and never had false positive with Nod32.

Also it works good in combination with Malwarebytes pro, I heard many people use those 2 in combination.

Shit, totally forgot about a search function. So what did you switch to? Looks like avast! was quite popular even then.

o.O But from what I've read from the thread so far, ESET seems to be the preferred option. Perhaps I should stick with avast!...

Avira, AVG, Windows Defender (lol) and a couple of malware/adware removals etc.

But like so many others said it, the best antivirus is your brain. :P

Security Essentials. I'm surprised no one said they use this one yet. I think it's great as far as antiviruses go.

I'm using this (and my brain) as well. Have been for years now and it's appeared to do its job. Used to use Avast but abandoned it when it started getting bloated with features that I don't need.

Yeah I have used it for quite some time too. I switched because the more common ones (like avast) were just too much for my older computer to handle. Essentials is just what the name says: the essential. It's light and has no bs features no one wants. Just an antivirus doing its job.

Previous NOD32 user who got screwed by its late protection. A happy Kaspersky user now on every single device.

Nothing , Windows defender is there but i think he's sleeping.

Strange thing , if you don't download crap ... virus won't get in or if you have no Antivirus you don't know the Zoo of Virus you have on your computer.

Both options make me happy.

I'm not using an anti-virus but every now and then I do a scan with AdwCleaner and it never picks anything up.

Eset. It's very good. But another one I was using in the past, and it was also very good, is Emsisoft.
