I've been using avast! for a while now and while it's been working for me, I wonder if there is a better one out there.

I use Avast + Malwarebytes Anti-Malware + Sandboxie for browsers; testing programs, files, etc.

Used to use Windows Defender, but that thing is horrible at protecting you from malware.
Now went to AVG, since I heard it got much better. It's definitely better, but it still pushes it's crappy online protection on you.
I'll probably use nothing in the future though.

Why even make a list if you're not gonna add more options...

If you want a real representation you have to add a "NONE" option.

None, antivirus is so 2000 early. Most of them come with free malware one way or the other.

None on my primary PC (it's a mac, I don't need antivirus)
Windows Defender on my gaming Win10 PC (I install only games from Steam, so i don't need an Antivirus).
None on my notepad (I use only Autocad)
Avira on my other WinXP desktop (but I use it only at working).

I'm trying to keep a straight face. Honestly.

"I install only games from Steam, so I don't need an Antivirus."

My cousin was told she didn't need an Antivirus on her Mac, so she uninstalled it. She got infected two days later.

Just like on a Windows PC. As long as you know what you're doing there's very little risk.

For the Lambda user who has no clue and will click on anything, an Antivirus is definitely required.

Norton since 2011, but I'll switch to Kaspersky this year when my subscription wears out.
Plus I have Malwarebytes Premium as a secondary protection layer.

On my gaming pc I have AVG, but on my laptop I have none (well, unless you can call windows defender an AV program...). As long as you know what you are doing and don't just go to all kinds of random sites and only download from trusted sources, then you really have no need for an AV.
