I like the witcher games especially the second one is brilliant, BUT it seems that i like Skyrim more ... I spent about 30 hours with the witcher 2 and up 'til today about 243 hours with skyrim..... If that doesn't say which game i like more ....
But anyway. I'm planning on playing the witcher 2 for a second time because of the wonderful special edition the developers released for free. Thats how its done to win gamers hearts.

Witcher 2!

Time to finish.
Witcher 2 100 % - 4 days.
Skyrim 100 % - 1 months.
Witcher 2 - few quests, few items, poor character progress.
Skyrim - huge amount of quest and items, best character progress (many skills).
Simple choice - Skyrim.

Witcher 1+2 - mature, amazing story with memorable characters when choice matters.
Skyrim - open world with sh*tload of quests (most of them boring anyway), weak story, mods, oh and since Morrowind - still lame combat system.

Personally, I cannot understand how anyone at all could prefer The Witcher's combat system over Skyrim's.
Granted, Skyrim's system isn't exatly great, but the Witcher's was utterly terrible.

You can't even talk about "combat system" when it comes to Skyrim. Same shit like in Morrowind. The worst system in any RPG I have ever played.
*note - I love those games, Morrowind is one of my favorites RPGs ever.

Witcher 2. Only thing skyrim has, is a fantastic open world that makes it feel organic and exciting. Skyrim has a great adventure feel. Witcher 2 has everything else, though it's a very small, focused linear world, that lacks the freeness of skyrim, or even the previous witcher game.

If yo want non linear, mature storyline in very brutal world, efective combat system and great story - take Witcher.
But if you want more open world lots of quest and huge amount of caves(about 150) to see, and you like dragons-take Skyrim.
Skyrim has got also lots of mods(fabular, improments, new spells, etc.),but i my opinion Wither is bettet.

Skyrim is a really big turd, Witcher 2 is a medium-sized diamond.

The Witcher 2, by far. While I did enjoy it, Skyrim felt a bit shallow. Witcher 2 I've replayed 3 times already. And one playthrough gives you only one side of the awesome story, leaving you also wanting to play it from the other side's perspective. Also, it offers beautifully rendered boobies (if you're into that sort of thing).

I have played both.
Story -> The Witcher, it is really good to play 1st and 2nd part. Really absorbing. You can read books anyway to know the complete storyline.
Open, free world and at least 100 hours of gameplay -> Skyrim
Skyrim seems booooring to me after some time, but if someone likes sandox like this (Oblivion, Morrowind etc) it is created for him.

If you are looking for game for long long time - Skyrim is good choice. If you think about mastering it, doing every quest and cave.
Wither is way shorter but much more epic story and gameplay to me.

The Witcher 2 for the better story. Skyrim if you like exploration more. I enjoyed both games alot even though I spend way more time in skyrim obviously because there is more to see.

I was a bit disappointed in witcher2, felt like i could get more for the money if id went with skyrim instead
and like others have said - ull put in around 30hours to finish witcher2 and then maybe another 30 to finish it again

however i loved open world in skyrim, exploring felt great, it also has more gear-loot to choose from and better skill progresion
witcher 2 on the other hand has good story, good combat system (if u dont count boss fight - press space, press LMB...) and boobs!

both games have good story - but ull definetely put more hours into skyrim then into witcher2

I'd play it. The Witcher-born just snarls at people and their heads explode.
