Bump, thanks for the awareness thread and the giveaway. Lots of people with mental health are still struggling to get help, I hope the world will be much better about this someday.

I'll share an app that might help those who aren't doing great and have issues just getting out of bed. BoosterBuddy (free on android & ios) is a cute app that has many functions such as giving you a few simple quests everyday or tracking your mood and medication, and is full of useful information about all kinds of mental health issues. Below are screenshots of other apps that might be useful to someone (don't mind the weird background)

Some random things you could do during this month (all the time would be nice but I don't want to ask too much, not specific to mental illness, but I've found it helps my mental state a lot)
Be nice to people when online gaming. Be encouraging, supportive and helpful. Give tips. Don't harass people off the server, don't kick them off cause they're shit. Everyone has to learn and it isn't hard to be a part of that process for someone
Give compliments, do you think someones hair looks nice? Tell them! Someone is wearing a cool shirt? Tell them so! Someone is wearing something unique and out there and you think it's cool? Tell them! Someones wearing an awesome costume? Tell them! If you notice something positive about someone then Tell Them. Definitely difficult if you have social anxiety, but good practice with low risk, and you can make someone's day
If you see someone struggling, with groceries or a trolley, or someone with a clear injury or disability, or is just looking lost, then ask if they need help, note ASK THEM. Don't just assume they need your assistance, go up, politely ask if they would like some help, and leave if they say no
Keep plants, low effort and maintenance plants add life to your space. Keep a little one on your desk at work. Keep some bigger ones at home. Clear the air of CO2 and help you feel useful
Open your windows, let in some light. Go outside, sit in your backyard, your front yard, your balcony. Get some air. Bring out a book you've been meaning to read or an old favourite (Mine are Howl's Moving Castle, Summerland and Coraline), practice your drawing or crochet or painting or stitching
Go to the park and feed some ducks. Pea's and corn, bread is bad for them
Play with your pets. Throw a ball, take them for a walk, give them some food or just some love and attention
Change your clothes, dry shampoo your hair, strip your bed and switch the sheets
Call your parents, just talk, or meet up with a friend, or just talk online. Talk and try and be honest with yourself and then
It's always a struggle, and it's okay if you can't do it one day, so long as you try it again tomorrow. So long as you're trying, it's fine

Bumping for awareness of the World Mental Health Day.
Every day should be punctuated with that awareness, but since we all know it isn't at least let this date bring to mind all the issues many (if not most) of us humans deal with. Because mental health refers not only to the more visible conditions, but also to the less-visible symptoms that accompany us as we go about our lives (mood, anxiety, stress, among many others).

I believe gaming is good for mental health. At least it helps me relax a lot! Bump!

I wonder if tending elders with bad mental health puts you at risk as well, since this my situation atm.

No, tending to them does not put you at risk. But failing to tend to your own well-being definitely can. In order to better be able to help others, you also need to actively take care of yourself.
This is something that you should never overlook, and that conversely also helps you do a better job at helping them. Tending to elderly people with declining physical or mental health can be very demanding (as you must know well), so it is important that you use your free time to exercise and keep in good shape, to attempt to abstract from problems (not always easy since often those elder people are relatives), to engage in fun or relaxing activities, eat well, etc.
Your perspective is also very important, trying to maintain a positive outlook, even more so when those people are close to you. It is important to recognize you're making a difference, by minimizing the hardships of others as much as can be done.

The one person missing from this thread that probably is affected is not here. Irony?

Yeah no, not having to disclose medical issues to workplace is a godsend that I'm gonna take advantage of.

have a bump, My wife and I (as well as my mother, brother in-law, and I'm sure coworkers too) struggle with some MD and it is something very peculiar. It is still not understood how and when it is triggered and there are still judgments from some.
Love and compassion bump !

I've been dealing with GAD and MDD for 2 years (diagnosed; undiagnosed might be more) and i work in a debt collection agency, i was feeling pretty okay but suddenly i got a panic attack yesterday because my head can't stop overthinking and that kills me. I'm okay now but at that moment it was pure crap, i felt like i couldn't work anymore and i went through a lot to get that job. People, we fall to rise again, don't let your hopes die. We can overcome this with support and ourselves.
Thank you.

Hello one and all,
Just wanted to raise some awareness of the one of the very few things that are (arguably) more important than video games - your own health and the health of people around you.
This years' theme of MHD is mental health in the workplace so if you have any problems at your work, find someone to talk about it whether it's your co-worker or some SteamGifts stranger. The same goes the other way, if you see someone at work who's been having bad days lately - talk to him/her, even the smallest action of care helps.
If you're feeling down due to unemployment, talk to someone too - you won't know what good may come out of it unless you try, and if you know someone who's been unemployed reach out to at least raise his/hers spirits, every bit helps.
And of course let's have a GA
And some music for better or worse mood:
Daniel Powter - Bad Day
Dire Straits - Walk Of Life
AURORA - Murder Song
Message To Bears - Mountains
Kansas - Carry on Wayward Son
Have a nice day you all.
