Nexus is a brilliant phone, don't know if the Galaxy Nexus is still in shops (not the S model, regular one). If not, check out Nexus 4.

Aren't there any other places that you can get your phone?

Strange my old phone just broke down, so I've just been looking around myself for a new one. I use my phone mostly to view media as videos, pdf, music and a bit of games. So I've decided to get the "Samsung Galaxy Note 2", seems like it beat all of the competition I found, even phones 2-3 times as expensive. The phone cost about 757.82$ (562.98€) in total , but paying back over a couple or so, without paying any extra fees so not bad at all.
It got a pretty large screen 5.5 inch, 1.6 GHz quad-core processor (that's 4 single cores), Android 4.1 JB, 2GB ram (ddr2 I assume), 1280x720 resolution, the manufacturer (Samsung) states that it plays full hd on their website - "Full HD(1080p) Playback & Recording".
Not sure how exactly that works if the phone only got a 1280x720 resolution? Wouldn't that mean that the phone max can show up to 720p? Would that mean that the phone plays 1080p video files, but scales down the video to 720p while playing? ;D If anyone should know about this, then I would greetly appreciate the knowledge.
Edit: Ah I didn't notice you had a max price.

Thanks for your reply. I kinda assumed so, still I just felt that it was rather strange they included "playback", under full hd on their website, seems a bit misleading if so.
Edit - Got this reply from Samsung:
As you have already mentioned in your mail Samsung Galaxy Note has HD Super AMOLED, which gives you the full resolution of 1080P.
According to phone discription it does not show 720p, HD Super AMOLED gives you options to view your videos in full HD 1080p.
My note: By the sound of that, "HD Super AMOLED" allows the phone to play in full hd 1080p afterall.

One could argue he might google whatever phones people recommend here, instead of just buying the first one the first guy recommended ;)

I second this. The Nexus line is some good quality stuff. I think the Nexus 4 is only $300 too.

Nexus 4 definitely. Better than SIII, better than Xperia S and it's not an iPhone, so it's got that going for it.
