might as well call the forum link "rant here about free stuff that other people might still be interested in"

It's the fact that when the first 100 games in the giveaway list have about 95 copies of Dota, a free game, that's giving people 10p of score... It's irritating. Nothing else is in the list, because people will try to give away things they get for cheap in order to raise their stupid score that means nothing. If it was worth nothing, it would stop. All this site has turned into, instead of a place to share gifts, is a place to split indie bundles in order to get the largest e-peen score.
Besides, isn't getting something for free, then giving it away, against the rules?

No, it is not against the rules. And the value of Dotas are limited.

Where the fuck did you read that exactly? If you get stuff for free why won't you be able to give it away? Hell, if you actually won Shadowgrounds at that Summer Seal thing but really wanted a Trine coupon instead, isn't it better to give away your Shadowgrounds if you already own it? And giving it away is kind of the point of why Valve was giving them for so many people; so that they can invite more players to it.
Were you not so ignorant, you would have looked up the Steamgifts add-on and the FAQ (so that you can filter out DOTA and all the games you want ot ignore), where it's also clearly stated that bundle games and exploited or free stuff cannot grant more than 30$ contributor value.

To use your own words: Where the fuck did you read that exactly? Were you not so ignorant you would realize that the FAQ that was written has not been updated and has zero information regarding how games designated in 'bundle' status affect contributor value. no where is that information 'clearly stated' in the FAQ as you put it, and is actually buried deep in another forum thread from a few months ago.

Well that's weird, it's mentioned in the first paragraph or so, but even so, it's linked in in the comments. With a little research regarding that matter, it can become pretty clear. Emphasis on little and the actual willingess to look at the damn FAQ before going on to cry about mundane things in the forum.

the first paragraph does mention a 'Policy on Bundles' section, however that is no where to be found in the actual reading of the FAQ :(
also, most people probably won't read the comments. especially when there are 7 pages of them. comments are not really the place for that info anyway, it should be in the FAQ article

No argument against that, it definitely should be there; though if someone new notices the bundle policy in the first paragraph, it's easy to conclude that the latest replies got something on them. This is how I usually fix my problem with games that don't run on my old PC for the first time; look around in forums and their replies, even if the main topics aren't about a problem in particular.

Fun fact: you can purchase Dota 2 beta access in the steam store.

Considering the game is going to be F2P, how about make Dota 2 worthless in terms of contributor value to discourage the endless, obnoxious spamming of it?
