Fallout 3 or New Vegas?

Both are great games, but I'd say New Vegas is a little bit better, but with mods they are pretty much equal.
Also on sales the ultimate editions usually go down to about 5 bucks, so if you can wait that long then it would definitely be worth picking them both up.

I've only played F3 so far but I own New Vegas. Def both but F3 first. Vegas is pretty much F3 with a little new stuff. Same graphics just about.

Both are great titles.

Both, but 3 first, then take a month or so off, so you can take a break from this universe, and then go for NV.

I found New Vegas more Fallout than Fallout 3, so New Vegas.

Perk wise, I'd say New Vegas. Better post-apocalypse setting would be Fallout 3.

Definitely New Vegas. After finishing 3, I vowed to never play Fallout again because I hated it that much.(I had it on xbox, that might've been the problem. I did actually buy it for PC, but I've yet to play it.). But then New Vegas was on sale on steam, so I got it, modded it, and I absolutely love it. Need to start playing it again.

I highly recommend modding it btw, bug fixes, graphical improvements etc.

Fallout 3 has a better atmosphere but Nev Vegas is better in all the other ways.

F3 has better atmosphere but NV has better writting.Prioritize as you will.

never played Fallout 3, but i have played New Vegas, and it feels like a real fallout game, the atmosphere, the characters, the settings, etc.
Also, Radio New Vegas is the best radio ever.

I recommend both of them. If you like one of them, then probably you should play the other one too.

New vegas is way better. I beat 3 and New vegas, and I believe you'll have more play time. Fallout 3 does have a very nice atmosphere, like gloomy all the time. Vegas has like a little bit of everything.

Both are great, just throw a coin.

Fallout 3, definitely better post apocalyptic atmosphere, like the Dunwich building and the fact that there are no green plants except for in Oasis :)

On PC with mods it doesn't matter
