The first Witcher game was brought up in a couple of threads recently, and I noticed a good handful of comments indicating that some SGers still were lacking the first game. So [for those willing to acknowledge the existence of non-Steam platforms] just a reminder that GOG is still giving Witcher free to anyone who both subscribes to their newsletter and has Gwent in their GOG library.

While this offer was first introduced years back along with Gwent's early beta, several articles from this May confirm the offer is still active.

To get the free game, along with a free “Card Keg” for Gwent (if you’re into that), just head over to the GOG offer page and sign up for the GOG newsletter. You must have a GOG account and have Gwent (free to play) in your library in order to successfully redeem the offer. >>

Gwent requires Galaxy, so it's probably that it can't add to library correctly without having Galaxy installed.
Witcher'll run just fine without Galaxy, however, so you can just uninstall Galaxy now that you've gotten Witcher. :)

Yeah I thought it'd be like steam but browser didn't work. I won't uninstall Galaxy though I have some games on it and I'll give it a try :)

This is old, like years old, but bump for visibility if for people who don't know.

The last SG thread which last brought the topic up was from a full two years ago, and didn't address the matter in proper detail. The one before that was first posted in 2016, and never updated itself beyond closed beta information (and so its links were out of date).

People were indicating a lack of awareness, and none of the existing threads were suitable for bumping (even before considering that the recent influx of non-constructive troll-necroing would likely make most users simply ignore any well-dated thread they happened across).

So yes, years old, but worth bringing up in a new thread for exactly that reason (to my mind, at least). :)

Huhm. Well, the offer page is still active, and looks like JAckY seems to have gotten it working up above, so it should be fine.
Rather, did you get the free card keg? That'd at least clarify if the offer activated (and the key just didn't get sent to you) or whether it didn't activate at all. If fiddling with it doesn't work, just run it by GOG support.

I didnt get the extra keg so i think the same. I will contact gog support to sort it out. Thanks for the input.

Worked well for me. Installed GOG Gaalaxy, installed Gwent, opened https://www.gog.com/gwent-welcome-bonus in browser, GOG offered me a free copy of The Witcher: Enhanced Edition so I added it to my cart on GOG and bought it for free. Thank you GOG, nicely done!
