Using Symantec Internet Security for the fourth year now, but next year I'll change to BitDefender (or maybe Kaspersky).
had some secondary PCs using free antivirus, but stopped doing that. All of them are just a joke that just hog insane amount of system resources without providing actual live protection. And for scanning and removal, a free edition of Anti-Malware is better than any free antivirus.

I use avira free
It's advertises once when startup.
And avira web protect broke the javascript in my chrome, disabled dropdown menu at some sites. Uninstalled the plugin.

I've never use any other antivirus, but one of my friend got virus in his pc. It was detected by Avast but Avast couldn't remove it properly. I told him to try Avira, and Avira succeed to remove the virus. He uses Avira till now.

I have been using MBAM with Windows Defender (or MSE prior to Windows 10) and haven't had any issues. Of course being in IT has taught me to watch what I click and not to ignore security warnings.

I always install Avast just in case but I almost never get viruses anyway.
Best antivirus is knowing where to download from.

I use NOD32 Anti Virus (AV only because it's faster than the whole ESET package) 8.0.319.1 in combination with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Home Premium and imho it's a good combination that didn't fail me once and I've been using them for many years now.

Also I update my Windows 7 64bit, Microsoft Office, JAVA, Firefox and Adobe products (AIR,Shockwave, Flash and Reader) on regular basis.

i do not use any...
I trust to my sources (Steam and some free well known software)
I do not even open exe/com/scr attachments in emails so im safe.

AV is good for pirates, when they use cracks or other not legal software.
