Didn't manage to save Santa, but the game was very well made and lots of fun! I'm already looking forward to the next event, I might spare some giveaways for that as well. :)

Did it have to end when winners was reached?
Wouldn't it be better to keep it going for the entire 2 weeks? But after the first X(50 in this case) winners the next Y people would get a lower % of treasures(50%?) after that only 1-2 or something like that. Maybe even an extra step with 25% in between.
That way the players can still enjoy the game, even though they won't get (m)any treasures.
I admit this was a special case, since the energy was negated later in game.
Comment has been collapsed.
Yeah I was thinking on something like this too, but I guess it had to be designed from the beginning that way in order to be a viable plan.

It would be nice if everyone could play it as much as they wanted till the end of the weeks, but I guess you would have to have a timer on, that would actually disable or severely lower the GA treasure chances, the more time passed by and the more the winners became. It would be hard to balance, but I suppose it "could" be done.

maybe you could resume the game on one of next days, but by having removed the GA links from the code? Just saying, I have no idea if it's even possible to do that.

Did all of you find this skeleton that was bubbling in german:
Skeleton (after a google translate) :
" Morgenstern , oh, shine on the face of me, throw a warm light on my ugly face. Tell me I'm not alone ... ! "
Unfortunately some seconds later that lonely skeleton was crushed by my Hammer. :O
Note: I would probably have enjoyed an extra option, to leave the skeleton alone, or try and talk to him.

He did want to be put out of his misery, I guess he wanted a warriors death since he attacks you.

I actually thought he was blinded, before dying and becoming a skeleton. But maybe we just have wild imaginations. :P

I just had a look at the GAs of the past game of swords (in server's profile) and I somehow think that the overall quality of GAs was vastly superior during the previous game of swords. :O huge difference. (at least judging from the few I saw)

Yeah, thought that, but it's my map I created when exploring, what you best did in the first version, without mini-map.
Comment has been collapsed.
I actually also did the whole thing on grid-milimeter paper, yes with my pencil and rubber. xD It seemed useless though since the map feature was very well made after all. (only personal notes missing) To be fair, I'm actually used to this from old crawlers that never had maps and recently finishing legend of grimrock on oldschool mode (no map) to get it to 100%. The Real Enemy of such practice of course, are the dreaded teleporters ! (and the pits)

Indeed I thought I would never enter it. I had no idea it was the lever but that does makes sense. I actually wanted to ask about it but forgot. You see in the end I was just exploring for 100% map, and went back to the entrance of the storeroom. And behold I entered it. And I didn't even know how I did it. (lol) It had an amazing weapon in there btw. Which happened to help me in the last fight.
Also fun fact:
I managed to get the book from the bookworm through invisibility since I was not powerful enough to kill it and was certain it was guarding something like that. I had even ran away from it early in the game almost dead (5hp left) with more than 5 failed run checks. I dreaded it. Later though I came back with the Hammer from the storeroom and killed it in 3 fell swoops untouched. It really shows how subjective everything is.

Actually, I tried explosives there but they never worked. Were just wasted. I guess I was never aiming good enough.

You probably got a bookworm that was almost always missing when attacking, instead of dealing 30-40+ dmg per hit. Not to mention that some of us did not have hp potions early in the game (or spent them on traps/poisons/bleeding or other weaker enemies), and wouldn't risk drink them all for just one monster with 250 HP. To constantly dodge an enemy in games like these, is simply pure coincidental luck. It all depends.

It's called endless loop. :P I won't say more. xD
However stay tuned, there's a small chance the game will be back. (can't tell for sure though yet)

The game ended in 2 days, I didn't start immediately and never stood a chance of getting there in time, people ahead of me reached a point where they could speed through it, it needed more time for the rest of us to have a chance to finish it.

You welcome. To be honest most of the treasures are not good enough anyway, so it doesn't really matter that much. xD

From what I see this was a game of luck. Without a single artifact and only few energy potions found I never reached the magical point where energy was not a problem and I explored and examined around half of the map. Unfortunately in a game like this, based on the energy I don't think that anything connected to it should be random especially when due to the ending conditions it was a race.Th hit and miss chance was also a bit too random. Some of the stronger mobs could be killed in few hits without loosing a single hp point while others were resisting to die even though they were supposed to be really weak.
Despite the lack of balance for multiplayer the game was very good. The only thing I didn't like was the confusion mechanic, but many people already pointed this out. I hope to see another game of sWords soon, they're a lot of fun.

The Game required a good strategy much more than luck. Of course there are random elements, but if everything was straightforward, predictable and same for everyone, it just wouldn't be so interesting, each player's experience wouldn't be unique.
Thank you for your feedback and I'm glad you still enjoyed the Game of sWords! :)

Nice to hear that you found a way for those who wanted to keep playing. Maybe change the subject of the thread so that more people can re-enter the game? Also nice to hear about the disorientation too . :)
I won't be replaying this but will be waiting patiently for next game of swords. :)

I'm getting some (weird) ideas here for next Christmas so let's share... Imagine if ~half the adventurers lost to that last battle (permadeath, and very challenging fight to survive), and the final result of if Santa was saved or not, was up to the total ratio of wins/deaths of Adventurers on that last fight. xD
That way, the event gets support till the very last day (of christmas), and challengers should be more careful before confronting that last boss. (whatever that is)
If Christmas is indeed saved in the end, than gifts should be shared to all (promotes Christmas giveaway spirit, and what more amazing than this for that day??), the Castle Lord is dead after all, and Santa free to give presents to all !!!
otherwise the Castle Lord revels in the joy of sitting upon hundreds of adventurer corpses, keeps all presents for himself and Santa never visits the children for that year (hohoho). :O (well it would be up to the castle lord what to do in that case, maybe just leave the old rule of a top limit of winners of the dungeon like it was in this game of swords etc etc)
Yes I know I'm probably crazy for my thoughts. xD

I actually finished it in one sitting in my next session, if only the game hadn't ended so quickly I would have finished it in time, I only needed one more session lol. The final boss mechanic was infuriating, I must have clicked Attack 100 times to register a few necessary attacks.

I didn't hate him, first used 5 explosive potions, clicked miss once when doing so, but he missed as well.
Then I just clicked attack once and I won. :P

Hello Steamgifters! I am happy to announce that the biggest giveaway adventure has just begun! :)
All of us like playing games, and all of us like winning games. So, how about playing a game and winning games while playing?
Introduction
Game of sWords is a text RPG Adventure where you can explore dungeons (or other locations), complete quests, solve puzzles, find useful items, avoid deadly traps and fight dangerous monsters while searching for treasures (private SteamGifts giveaways links) on your way and trying to reach the end to get access to a huge amount of private giveaways! Each Game (of sWords) usually has a unique scenario and a limited number of winners, so the chances will always be great.
All giveaways have no restrictions, so anyone who finds them can join them!
A lot of giveaways have been contributed by the community members, and I would like to say a big Thank You to everyone who made a contribution! :)
Important notes about the Game
In the Game, you will have Energy Points and Health Points.
Most of the actions in the Game require Energy Points. Energy can be replenished using items, which you can find everywhere, thus it is important that you check everything around you!
Energy will also be replenished over time. Normally, you will receive 1 Energy Point every 15 minutes, and that time can be reduced with special artifacts that can be found in Game.
Note, that the Energy won't be replenishing during the battles (you can only restore it with potions)!
If you lose all your Health Points, you will also lose all the energy you had plus you will have to wait for up to 6 hours to be resurrected. (Resurrection happens every 6 hours from the time the Game started - 16:00 GMT). The energy can not be replenished while you are dead!
Note: If you have problems navigating through the map, you can switch to Simplified Navigation at the bottom left corner.
It would also be useful to read this article, I give important strategy tips there :)
The treasure Game will finish when 50 adventurers will win the Game!
Time to start the Adventure!
EVERYONE is invited to play the Game and search for treasures in the adventure! :)
The only requirement is that your Steam account should be more than 90 days old.
Will you be able to defeat the monsters, complete quests, solve the secrets of The Secret Castle and... save Santa Claus who was kidnapped by the evil Castle Master? :)
