For my part I buy the HB Choice games I want from resellers. It costs me less than 6 USD. After 2 consecutive pauses, HB bribes me with a 4 USD coupon, so if there is one that it particularly good I can get it for 8 USD.
6*6 = 36 USD for 6 months of choice, with games you don't really want or already own
With my method I spent globally way less, and had the great pleasure of not feeding HB/IGN.

Even if you don't personally like any of the games, $6 is still a pretty good deal imo. You can make GAs worth 30-40$ in CV for $6, that's up to a 85% discount and a good number of games that you can use for different types of GAs e.g. trains, events, group-only etc. If you spend money on giveaways either way, I'd say it's worth it - with the occasional game you are interested in and activate yourself.

That's what I did, until HB support stated that making GAs with leftovers is forbidden by their stupid policy, and threatens to close accounts of people breaking their rules. It's up to anyone to accept the risk, for my part I chose my side :)

As long as you reveal the steam key and don't give away the gift link, you'll be fine. I've never had a problem when gifting the actual keys. But I can understand how it's an inconvenience to have to worry if you'll be banned just for giving stuff away.

I know I don't risk much if I use keys, you're absolutely right about that. I guess what really makes me angry is to have to hide myself. In fact I was very happy to stay a subscriber even if a month was not of much interest to me, I gifted the games and was happy to make someone else happy (I don't care about CV btw, I didn't enter any GA since years). Now I do whatever I can not to spend money in HB, I do only if the monthly is so good that I couldn't get the games I want from resellers without paying more - something which does not happen very often :)

From one side - I'm happy I get all the games for $12 as a classic sub .. for $8 every two months... But I'm still getting discouraged buying choice bundles because many users are getting it even cheaper.. While it's not really much of a difference if I get the skipping discount, I don't think I've bought it for the full $12 for half a year most likely or more. And now that people are getting $6 for 6 months again, the games must be really awesome for me to pay twice that.

I know that I sound highly entitled and there will be those who always screech "it's already dirt cheap" ... Well, I know. Doesn't change the fact people are getting it for half what I'm paying and I'm paying more for the same content.

As AimJesus said in one comment - it's like phone contracts.... Why should I be happy about what I'm paying if a new user is paying half that. And then there comes the gambling aspect - but what if I have to pay more after the discount ends.. It's pretty manupalative to be honest - it reels in new users with hope that they stay for the full price but existing ones are discouraged to cancel for fear of getting the full "full" price of $20 or whatever it was...

All in all - I'm just going to skip more probably.

Well for one thing, you can be happy that people with less money are able to afford it, since you can still afford it at twice the price…
But I guess people who wait for things they can afford shouldn’t ever be rewarded with a chance at something like this?

Doesn't really make sense in this context.

It is definitely cool for those who had problems affording it and drop in price made it possible, but that doesn't really change the fact I'm still paying more for the same thing.
If it would be some kind of support bundle where only people with low income would qualify to get it for half price I'd be happy for them and pay my full price. At this point me and those who get the discount are on the same level, only thing seperating us is the fact they weren't subscribed initally.

This is on the same level as "so you're saying .... (insert some totally twisted thing that totally twists my first comment to make me look bad)".... don't do that. I never implied it's bad that people with lower income benefit from being able to afford it at this price. To be frank - I'd bet people like that is minority and 90% of those who got the discount could without a problem afford to pay the full price. Most likely even the full "full" price.. And it's definitely cool for them as well. Not cool for me though as I still have to pay the full price... which is why I will be more reluctant to actually buying the bundle.

I got this month in 6$, purchased on first day and now it shows july bundle in 20$ which is very costly according to game they offer. So if they will give me this offer again then I will subscribe it again but for now I have cancelled subscription.

And it's only going to piss even more the long term subs, some from the very beginning. In the end they'll lose everyone by trying everything to retain the volatiles instead of cattering for the true loyal customers.
Good for them if they are so dumb anyway.

Yeah, I’m wondering if not cancelling automatically continues the $6 deal…
Because if so I might be able to stay subscribed, but if canceling treats it like you canceled after renewing and lose the other 5 months or whatever… idk

Although checking my plan it does say that my next bill is for $6 on July 27, so I guess it must just count as redeeming that coupon?

FYI, for those that got the offer, you'll see it under the "Coupons" section, except when you go through with the purchase, the confirmation screen contradicts itself because it will say that it's only for 1 month (instead of 6) and that next month (July) will be billed at full price.

Then if you go out and to "Manage Plan", there it will correctly reflect that next months billing (July) will be at the correct discounted offer price. FWIW.

I checked my email and I didn't get the offer, but even for six bucks I would pass. This current month is absolute garbage IMHO. Last month was pretty decent and I had even considered resubscribing, but I haven't been a member since it was 12 bucks and none of this tier crap. I looked around trying to find any discount or coupon that was out there (last month during Metro Exodus and Darksiders Genesis) and in the end I just refused to pay more and get fewer games than new members. I started doing a little research to see if I could just make a new account and then I just said screw them. HB's bundles are NOTHING compared to what they used to be. I'd rather just not give them another dime. And with this month, I wouldn't pay 6 cents for these games... okay 6 cents I will do but only because I'll get more than that back in Steam Wallet from the cards... but that's my final offer..... and sadly, when HB started, 6 cents would have actually gotten you a game. Now it's not about the charities and gamers that can't afford 60 dollar triple A new releases, nowadays it's just another business and just another digital store that I won't be sorry to see go by the wayside and join Direct 2 Drive and Stardock in oblivion.

This $6 plan is meant for people like me, Poor South East Asian who can't afford $12 plan.
I receive the first $6 promo in December, (it's also the first time i subscribe to HB) when i cancel week ago, and not continuing with $12 premium, i sent them the message, "this is the best thing that ever happened to poor gamer like me T_T", Now they give me another $6 T_T, please don't hate Humble Bundle because of this deal. :(

I'm seriously considering cancelling my sub. At this point it's cheaper to just buy all the games second hand, from people who got the $6 coupons, instead of paying $12 for the classic plan.

I jumped on the 12 months for $99 during the holidays last year. It isn't nearly as good as the $6 for 6 months but at least it beats paying $12. That doesn't really help you right now but maybe something to think about? It's pretty bad they don't do offers to people who aren't threatening to cancel and other long term subs.

You can pause the promo 12 months @ $99 without losing the discount. You paid for 12 credits, same as full price year bundle. This has been confirmed many times over on Reddit.

I was really confused, I almost cancelled before deciding to just pay full price for this month, but then it only charged $6, lol. I was like, “If I knew you were only going to be $6 I wouldn’t have thought about it for so long!”
But yeah, now I can finally play Civ VI with my friends who’ve been playing for a while, haha.

There's a comment on the other thread in which support refused to give the OP the coupon when asked. But it doesn't hurt to try. I was able get the deal last year when I emailed support but others were told no. It might just depend on who answers your ticket.
